MyBB 2014-2014 MBB Preview Magazines Discussion
I saw the Sporting News on the shelf at my local grocery store. I didn't buy it (I only buy Blue Ribbon), but here's their predicted order of finish:

(1) Georgia State
(2) Louisiana
(3) Texas-Arlington
(4) Arkansas-Little Rock
(5) Arkansas State
(6) Louisiana-Monroe
(7) Georgia Southern*
(8) Troy
(9) South Alabama
(10) Appalachian State
(11) Texas State

* The Georgia Southern preview had Eric Ferguson coming back - who isn't - curious to know how that would have affected things. (That's part of the reason why I only buy Blue Ribbon - this preview was probably written in May or something).

Also, the write up, written by Tim Buckley of Lafayette, Louisiana's The Advertiser, had the old Sun Belt logo.

Look for USA to do well. When we are predicted to do well we stink. When we are predicted to stink we do well. With that said, looks like an upswing for the Jags this year. Lol

Yeah we won't finish last. Didn't even do that last year.

I want to say South will be better, I want South to be better, I'm hoping South is better. I think Coach Graves is going to do good things, but until those results meet the floor we are still seen where we are seen. I'm tired of our basketball being this way.

I would like to talk about NMSU basketball but you guys won't let us into your super duper... top secret... he-mans... basketball club. 03-confused

Oh well...

According to the 144 teams in 144 days count down, Lousiana is ranked #73 and Georgia State is ranked #87. New Mexico State has yet to enter their rankings as they count down to #1 (and the start of basketball season).

i'm sure we'll start off inconsistent (lose the big name games, win some we should, lose to a mid major and win one) get off to a fast start in conference play, collapse late and either win 1-2 games in playoffs before we get booted out.

typical astAte basketball

I'm glad they gave some respect to my Mavericks. It'd be nice if that were the case.

But Danny Kaspar and Texas State won't finish last. He has a full year of recruiting and many second year players to his system coming back. They know what they need to do whereas last year they didn't have a clue.

Need to get y'all in the conference full time. Your basketball team would provide much needed depth to the conference.

Danny Kaspar was the best bench coach I saw (outside of Harper) in the SBC last year. Is he still sporting that 80s porn star look? That alone will keep them from last place

That was the first thing I shouted at him when he returned to UTA last year.

2. Louisiana
3. UALR
4. Arkansas State
5. ULM
6. UT Arlington
7. Georgia Southern
8. Texas State
9. Troy
10. South Alabama
11. Appalachian State
