The Hawaii and Bahamas Bowls are great for recruiting too. Every 18 year old would love a free trip to either place.

So when did Troy and ULL join the AAC? 03-lmfao

Zing! 04-cheers CUSA has been showing great depth this year, I can't wait to be be a full part of this conference next year, it's been exciting watching everyone even though we're one year away from playing the full conference schedule.

Consider the fact that Banowsky landed the bowl games he did and added the additional TV exposure.....He's done a great job as has the CUSA front office. Congrats to Banowsky and the entire team at CUSA.
G5/P5 are not real distinctions in the NCAA construct. We, CUSA are the sixth best conference (today) in Division I football period. Our strategic message needs to be all conferences are equal and in the pecking order based on current strength (today) we rank sixth. Improve the schedule, require the power conference schools to share access and lobby lawmakers to prevent bias in bowl and championship access shoul be the goal. I don't know, are we 30 years too late? The NCAA v. Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma, 468 U.S. 85 (1984) case started us down the road we are now traveling.

Good post. I agree.

Great for TV too, I think they're the only games on days when CFB fans are looking for something to watch.

I've been as proud of the conference as anyone, but we are only 2 weeks in...

2 weeks, 2 months...doesnt matter. We are undefeated against fellow G5 schools and have had some strong showings against the P5. At this point we are the best of the bunch. Hopefully we can continue going in that direction. Go CUSA!!!

Banowsky probably doesn't even keep up with C-USA football. He's focused on making sure the revolving door is well-lubricated, and that USM isn't obstructing access to it.

With 10 fans there and a middle school atmosphere? I disagree. Remember the outcry and backlash after USM chose hawaii... or the cosch did. Players want family and people and fans at the games too.

I for one, dont like empty stadiums on tv for a bowl game. Its embarrassing for the conference.

I don't think the destination was the reason for the outcry from USM fans...it was the fact they could have been playing a bigger named school and turned it down and instead got Nevada.
