RE: OT: NCAA restores Penn State's Postseason eligibility...
They covered up child rape! End of story! They shouldn't be able to come back from that. Slap on the wrist punishment is a disgrace. Giant f*ing coincidence that the Big Ten has a bad weekend and then Penn State suddely becomes eligible for post-season. If they make the Playoff because of this... its like all those raped kids are a blip on the radar.

Penn State, the current players, will be motivated more than ever now. It does help UCF's SOS if Penn State wins the Big Ten, but overall I am still pretty upset. They should have got Death Penalty early on.

This helps our SOS because they could end up being ranked and our loss would no longer be to an unranked team.

Remember guys...the real crime is when a women's basketball head coach calls an 8th grader to congratulate her on her Little League performance.

This is life in the P5 vs G5. 03-banghead

Not surprised at all... Look for a restoration of their scholarships at the end of the year as well.

NCAA reasoning: Good Behavior, taking right steps to rebuild integrity

Common Sense: Big Ten coming off the worst weekend its ever had in recent years. Talks of them being knocked out of the Playoff picture after week 2.

From what I understand, they also get to keep the 60 million dollars they were fined as part of settlement for the case with the NCAA. They covered up not 1, not two, but FOURTY-FIVE separate incidents of child abuse. SMH, this is ridiculous.

False... Penn State University still has to pay the money. It just goes back to the State of Pennsylvania

I live in the state of Pennsylvania. That money will go back in some form to the Nittany Lions.

Sorry I was mistaken, but leaving the money in the state will still benefit the university. Still sad how the NCAA handled the whole ordeal.

If this same thing had happened at any AAC school, the bulldozers would be pushing dirt at the site of the former football stadium and the athletic department's windows would be boarded up.

Oh, I have no doubt. I am sure some of it will find its way back to Penn State. But hopefully some if it makes its way to the other Penn universities like Temple, Pitt, and Lincoln. It's up to the State officials to determine where the money ends up going. Those people were voted on by their constituents so hopefully they make the right choices.

Or the private Catholic school of St. Francis (PA)!

They should have received a 5 year hiatus from football. I watched some of the UCF-PSU game and I couldn't stop thinking that UCF was playing against a school that tried to cover up a heinous crime to protect their precious football program. I hate seeing Penn State on TV, let alone know that they get to play.

Disgraceful.

Great precedent shown here by the NCAA. It's like PSU got parole. They better make a new rule stating that if "they restore integrity" then they can get everything dropped.
