It's not 48-20...but 42-21 is pretty darn close. I think I'm sticking with the 23-20 prediction.

+5 points for tech and a TD less for NT. I really expected more from NT

La Tech handed us our rear ends. Hats off to the Bulldogs. Here's hoping we get our QB situation figured out and be competitive going forward. I expect to see La. Tech do well the rest of the year. Good game.

Based on 2 games, do UNT fans think this team is better than last year's UNT team, or is it just too early to tell?

My 2 cents ...

Defensively ... I believe we're as good if not better than last year. We're rotating a lot of young guys up front and Sheldon Wade has been great as the only non-returning member of the secondary. In spite of the score our defense looked solid against Texas. Our putrid offense just left the defense out to dry.

Offensively Running ... I believe our run game is as good as last year and may better based on depth. True freshman Jeffry Wilson has looked very good as the 3rd back off the bench. I think he could start stealing playing time from Jimmerson.

Offensively Passing ... Our passing game isn't as good as last year. Our QB's looked horrible against Texas. Greer took a step forward against SMU but needs to take another big step to reach the "decent" or "average" level.

Special Teams - our special teams are very good. Our kickers and punters have been doing the job. Our kick coverage repeatedly pinned SMU inside their own 20 on kickoffs. Punt coverage also did a great job which allowed us to control field position.

Last year I thought our team started the year trying to figure things out and gain confidence. About mid season we hit our stride. This year I think we've picked up where we left off and we've hit our stride in most areas except the quarterback position. Right now we're playing well and we're confident.

03-lmfao It wasn't even close.

La Tech scored against OU's 3rd and 4th string.

....you mean like when UNT FINALLY scored against LA Tech tonight. 03-lmfao

Last year was pretty even. We both had 20 1st downs and we both had about 400 yards of offense. UNT got a big pick 6 in the 1st half and Tech missed a FG from about the 10 yard line to close out the 1st half down 14-10 (probably should have been up 13-7 without the pick 6 and with the FG). UNT had all the momentum and won the 2nd half 14-3.

I am very confident that this Tech team is better than last year's team. I KNOW unt lost a bunch of players and are kind of rebuilding. What I don't know, is if UNT is better this year than last year. I think they are going to have to be to win.

Based on 2 games, do UNT fans think this team is better than last year's UNT team, or is it just too early to tell?

Another factor is that last year's game was at Tech and this one is in Denton. That should be about a 3 point factor for UNT.

North Texas is better than Tech this year. Last year is history. See ya at 7PM

03-lmfao You're as bad as those damn Cajuns. 03-lmfao

RE: LA Tech vs. UNT Prediction Thread
That first half looked a lot like the first half last year. I had flashbacks when UNT picked off Sokol and started returning it (but it got called back for PI). Our offense is just much better this year and didn't allow UNT to pound us with the running game in the 2nd half this year, and we pulled away.

Load the box. Lets see what happens.

I look forward to a good game on Thursday night. If you are coming to Denton, be careful driving, and have a safe trip.

No doubt, the box will be loaded. Even against lowly SMU, UNT only threw for 108 yards. Wow! A whopping 108 yards? That's essentially no passing game whatsoever.

But your defense is bad azz.

Why pass when you run is doing great. Starting QB was 9-12. UNT played 3 QBs and a significant number of backups in the 2nd half.

UNT needed a passing game against Texas and it wasn't there. The result was a blowout loss and no points scored. You can't run over everyone you play if teams don't respect your passing game.... we learned that last year.

See? 07-coffee3

UNT is a talented young team that plays good fundamental ball with a lot of heart. Change out the QB and UNT will be a team that will win a lot of games. Good luck to the Mean Green until we meet again.
