Whatever we might be lacking this year, we should have 3-point shooting. Ben is one of the best in program history, and Josh is at least solid from the arc, and could be spectacular with a little better shot selection. Mareik showed signs of being a knock-down shooter toward the end of last year and our hopes are sky-high for him.

But even more help is on the way. James Reid is a pure shooter along the lines of Matt Mouzy, Alan Barksdale and Nick Zackery. He was 47 of 104 from the arc last season (45.2%), and was 62 of 167 the year before, for a career average so far of 40.2%. Granted that was against juco defenses (or lack of same), but just by way of reference, that percentage would be 6th all-time here at Little Rock. So, the kid can shoot the rock, no doubt about that.

If you recall in Steve's last post, in the shooting drill, Josh finished first, Ben second and James third. Can't have too many good shooters, assuming you allow them to shoot.

The ironic thing is that with Ben and Josh ahead of him, James' playing time may be hard to come by. But we can be aggressive on defense, because we have depth at that position.
