RE: Vandort
It sounds like he is taking the semester away from college and is looking to enroll at Hope or GVSU in January. He will not be coming back to WMU.

I heard his dad has some serious health problems. Can anyone confirm that?

Kid was a big fish in a small pond. 4 years starter in basketball and football at a D3 school. Was always the school stud. He was never really challenged for his starting spot on the team.

Coming to a D1 college program is an eye opener......it was for me. Everyone is at least all conference and most are all-state. Seeing 4 or 5 guys just as good of you in your class and another 4 or 5 that are older is intimidating. Everyone has a different reaction. Some just pack it in and others know that they will have to work for a couple of years to see the field.

I just hope Fleck's recruiting pitch isn't, "You will start for me as a freshmen." If he says, "You'll have a good chance to see the field as a freshmen," then I'd be okay with that.

Could very well not be about his dad. Or that could have contributed to his decision. Likely not the sole reason.
