We got a shot. If the OL plays the way they did Saturday we'll have opportunities to score some points, and unlike USC VT is poised for a let down.

Well Corso just picked UCF to win, so that now puts our chances at 0%. Good luck Pirates, you're our only hope now.

VT will have a let down; the players are being interviewed ad naseum for all their heroics Saturday. I have seen it happen before, pats on the back before really accomplishing the end goal; AKA, Pitt beating WVU as a 20 plus underdog when folks in WV had already purchased tickets to the NC game.

Yep this is the same thing I see potentially happening. USC laying the egg against A&M pretty much ruined the hope I had that they'd overlook us for Georgia, but VT is going to have a real issue getting ready for this game mentally, and we are good enough to give them a tough game even if they are 100% into it.

Yeah, because that's the ONLY reason we won today...

I will say that the team responded really well after losses last year, so hopefully they can keep that trend going.

Trend continues!

Yeah, because that's the ONLY reason we won today...

Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer refused to say the Hokies were suffering a letdown after their huge win over Ohio State last weekend and that led to their slow start.

"I'm not going to make that excuse," Beamer said. "I thought we were ready to play. We understood how exactly East Carolina was going to play. It wasn't a secret. They hit a couple of big plays against our defense, and offensively, we were sluggish getting started and then the defense is right back on the field.

"It just wasn't a good start, but I thought we were ready to play. We had all the respect in the world for East Carolina. They did a great job. They're well coached, and they've done a good job of recruiting. They've got some players there."

I think one will happen, but I sincerely doubt we'll see two upsets as big as those.
Nailed it.

Congrats ECU fans - your team was definitely better prepared. Hope you win the AAC and get the Access Bowl bid (or if not, I hope whoever beats you gets it). Great game, just sad my team had to lose.

BTW - I praised you guys in the article "Arrr!" on the AmericanRx blog. Y'all deserve it.
