Not at all. I am for reforming the way we enforce our laws by starting to enforce them.

So in order to have enforcement they have to be no illegal crossings? So how do you feel about the cops allowing murders to continue?

I think immigration reform should come with a twenty year pause similar to the pause after WWI. Give the country time to absorb the millions of immigrants that have come and the economy to expand enough to support what we got. No new greencards, no new work visas for twenty years. No automatic path to citizenship for the illegals here. Any new illegals caught during the pause would be permanently banned from obtaining citizenship.

but see, that's not the kind of reform they are talking about.

Reform is code for amnesty, lax immigration laws, increase in work visas for foreigners and less border enforcement.

The flawed thinking with this kind of language is that to win "Hispanic" votes, you must change our immigration laws to up their numbers. As if Hispanics are united in the sentiment. Que white liberal to chime in with lectures on demographics.

Without voter ID, how do you know who votes is not undocumented. With same day registrations the abuse is even worse.

If They get work visas and jobs that take out the same amount for taxes and unemployment insurance as Legal Americans and have restrictions on the amount of income They can send overseas or across borders. Follow set safety standards and have insurance on Their cars , I could see some compromise on legalizing many of Them. But Citizenship ship has to go through Our set way and followed by all. That includes background checks for Criminal records and Psychological disorders. Any new regulation should be posted throughout the border Countries that anyone caught entering the USA illegally afterwards of this agreement will be subject to prison and expulsion afterwards. That is the compromise limit going forward. We have to control Our Borders.

It depends on how you view it. There are good laws already in place, except these laws are selectively enforced with negotiable fines. I saw a documentary of a chicken processing plant that knowingly hires illegals and pays fines every few years because its cheaper than hiring legal workers and having a safe work environment. Illegal women at this plant were known to be raped and even made to disappear with no repercussions to the people in charge.

In my opinion the system is broken because people want their cake and eat it too. They want low wages for menial labor and at the same time they don't want to admit that America needs an underclass to take these jobs. As such the politicians pay lip service to it and pray that they can pass the problem along to the next guy.
