RE: AAC record vs FBS through Week 3
Penn state is an average BIG 10 team, UCF should have beaten them had the right QB gotten the nod

Mizzou is an above average SEC team, even though they lost a lot of starters from last year, their new starters had some experience and are talented, was not expecting a W here, but given UCF starters coming back, was expecting a more respectable loss

Except, Marshall took VT to triple overtime last year. ECU lost straight up to that team--no OT. ECU also had the chance to prove their dominance of CUSA last year and failed. I am not trying to knock your teams, but to think Marshall would just get steamrolled is delusional. We could compete.

MOST fans that watched that game would say that we completely **** the bed against Marshall last year. Really uncharacteristic. Frankly I don't know wtf happened.

All that said, if ECU and Marshall played this year I don't think we'd "steamroll" or "beat the garbage" out of them. I'd expect a really hard fought game but I'd give us the nod b/c it would be at ECU.

I am pretty sure this is the same post you made last year before getting rolled by Marshall. I miss ECU being in CUSA but I don't miss their delusional fans.

ECU is 10-5 all time against Marshall. Marshall had one good game, while ECU was coming off of the 2nd blowout win over an instate opponent and they caught Marshall on a short week (remember the game was the day after Thanksgiving) at Marshall. So I wouldn't read too much into that one game. Btw, glad to see that Skip has not lost his magic touch against any uniform with a CUSA patch on it. He should almost be through installing that entire B10 playbook by now. I hope you enjoy those runs up those 2 runs up the gut on 1st and 2nd down and then a bubble screen on 3rd down.

I have no problem with confidence in your team. I know I have confidence in Marshall, so I would give the nod to us. For anyone to claim we would be steamrolled in the AAC is not realistic. Marshall doesn't have a strong SOS, but it would be a colossal mistake to assume they are not a good team. Again, we can compete.

PirateMarv, of course we shouldn't read too much into it. It doesn't fit your narrative. What about the Triple OT at VT? I know, "bad timing". I have respect for ECU, but you could not easily beat the garbage out of Marshall. Your all time record occurred in our worst years, but again, not fitting the narrative.

Yes, delusional is taking a result from the previous year and assuming that all the pieces would fall the exact same way this year.

I hope you're not referring to my post. I'm giving Marshall the benefit of the doubt. I believe y'all have a really good program right now. I also think we played an awful game vs you last year. Just looked like a complete lack of effort all around. That said, Marshall came out like they decided they'd control the game from the opening minutes. I'm not one to blame losses on emotional letdowns and crap like that. That's loser talk IMHO. By that same logic we're basically guaranteed to lose to UNC this week. I just don't buy into it. NCSU sucked last year and their field is about 1.5 hrs from ECU so that didn't factor into the loss to Marshall..

We simply got our butts kicked and it was really disappointing.

Actually Skip has the offense rolling the last 2 games and Diaz has the D playing tough. We are respectable this year. Both ULL and UNT were bowl teams last year so they are good wins. I can't believe Iowa was so stupid not playing Sokol at QB, he's playing lights out running a weird version of the spread offense.

ECU could win out but if the AAC conference is as bad against g5, i think an undefeated Marshall will get the nod over a 11-1 ECU. I don't think Marshall will go undefeated so it's really a moot point.

Every Big 10 team has at least 1 loss with the exception of Nebraska and Penn State. How do you come to the conclusion that they are average?

That's not how it works. A win is a win, just ask UCF last year.

Besides, giving a pretty good Rutgers team their first loss with over a very loud 53k screaming fans when down 10 points at halftime says something.

And UCF will be fine once the o-line begins to play as a unit.
