North Dakota State > Memphis (ND State BEAT a P5 team Memphis did not)
McNeese State > Memphis (their moral victory came down to the last second)

And so they are better than ECU and most other teams in the conference too? Your point is just making your team worse as well....

Exactly my point.

RE: Week 2: Rank the AAC
I'm just having fun playing devil's advocate in this thread. No real harm intended

I honestly do wish Memphis success this year. We need strong teams in this conference and I was happy to see the Memphis-UCLA score this morning.

It is a long season and you may be sorely disappointed if you start beating your chest to the rest of the AAC after game 2 because of a moral victory over UCLA.

(hint: beat your chest after you win the AAC title this year..too soon too soon 03-wink

04-cheers

ok, take it one step further:

ND State > Memphis > ECU
Mcneese St> Memphis > ECU

Again, I'm just having fun right now.....04-cheers

UCF & ECU should be very nervous over Memphis showing out these two weeks.
We could win the conference and not even play y'all.

Say we beat Cincinnati, Cincinnati beats ECU, & ECU beats UCF.
Thats the entire top of the conference with losses and Memphis with cupcake conference game left..
And two of the top teams cant do anything about it cause they don't even play the tigers.

If any other American team went to the Rose Bowl and played UCLA last night, they wouldn't get rolled like they been doing against everyone else? Would UCLA be overrated then?

like I said. Time will Tell. My prediction is that South Carolina is overated and will not be in the top 25 this year. They will get rolled by Georgia next week. My prediction is that UCLA will drop out of the top 25 also after they go through the PAC12 gauntlet as the PAC12 seems to be very good this year. This is not an intentional knock on Memphis or my school. Some American teams are very equipped and competitive against P5 teams. Our top half is as good and in a lot of cases better than the bottom half and sometimes middle of the P5 conferences.
But the TOP 10 teams ranked at the end of the college football season, any American team would have a very small chance in beating. We simply do not recruit at that level. UCF was the exception to the norm last year and that is why it was such a great year for the American.

RE: Week 2: Rank the AAC
Based off of the first two weeks;

1) Temple- A road win at Vanderbilt and a tough loss to Navy is easily the best resume.
2) Tulsa- Only other team with an FBS win

3-7) USF, UH, ECU, Memphis and UConn. FCS wins and FBS losses

8) UCF- tough loss to Penn State
9) Tulane- A tough loss and a loss equals two losses
10) SMU- new definition of SUCK

11) Cincinnati- no results in but keeping fingers crossed they are good or else the entire league is already without a program we can point to with pride by week two

I definitely prefer the tier method when it's this early in the season. It's too early to tell for a lot of teams, but you can get a general feeling of where each team is at.
