7-0 vs G5 is the best news thus far. CUSA as a whole has played some of the better teams in the P5 so I am not especially shocked with the 0-12

The UTEP and UTSA losses still sting because we were so close to winning those games. But I like the fact we were competitive this week unlike last week so that is a definite positive for the conference.

Hurts that UTSA, UTEP, or ODU couldn't win their games this week.

So let me get this straight...
C-USA has played 19 games verses FBS team.
AAC's played 12 against FBS teams.
MWC's played 13 against other FBS teams.
MAC's played 15 games against FBS teams.
And the Sun Belt has played just 8 games against FBS programs
I don't mind programs scheduling an FCS team, but it seems some conferences might be loading up on those games a little too much.

I think the record against the P5 schools just really shows that this is a down year for G5 schools. Some years we make a good showing against them and some years not so much.

One thing to keep in mind on those numbers is all leagues do not have the same number of teams so that skews the number a little.

there are more variables than that were ignored.....it's a worthless comparison based on data provided...
....especially when you think in 'g5' terms.....
I just don't see any kind of an uproar from the masses relative to D3 comparisons (irrelevant relative to revenue)
in other words....the nation being fed by the gods of media don't give two shites...."pushed to the curb" comes to mind....
hell, some assclown will make a 'fall from grace' documentary made about boise state in the not too distant future.....

Wins against New Mexicos mean Houston is your premiere win, not exactly great. And better teams? Illinois, Miss St (twice), Zona, NCSU, Minnesota, TTU, Nebraska (way overrated every year), Texas (again overrated).
All mid to lower tier P5 teams.
The only "top" p5 teams you've played are Bama, ND (borderline), and Okie. You should be at least 4-8 right now.

I forgot to mention that CUSA is undefeated vs the AAC

Clearly New CUSA owns Old CUSA(AAC) in the state of TX, way to go UTSA and North Texas. I think the current CUSA line up has lots of growth potential. Not sure AAC is going to be ranked that far ahead of CUSA for many more seasons, unless they win some statement games.

The only "top" p5 teams the AAC has played are Baylor and SC (borderline). The one win is Vanderbilt which in most respects is G5. So really the AAC should be 7 - 0 right now. I do agree the Houston win isn't great since clearly the better G5 Texas teams are in CUSA.

RE: Through Two Weeks...
Our schedule against the G5 this coming week...
Ohio @ Marshall
Eastern Michigan @ Old Dominion
Tulsa @ Florida Atlantic
New Mexico @ UTEP
We should be at least 10-1 against the G5 after week three (knock on wood). The main question mark is FAU. The Owls finished the season strong last year, but it's hard to get a read on them so far this season because of the competition they've faced (Nebraska and Alabama); definitely the toughest schedule so far after 2 weeks.

I was trying to tell people after last season. This new configuration of C-USA has tons of potential. I think we are starting to see that potential realized. I think C-USA West looks like a very tough division this season.
Rice- the defending Champ played a fairly solid game against Notre Dame in week 1
UTSA- whipped Houston and took Arizona into the final minutes of the game
North Texas- Dominated SMU, and seems to have another tough defense
UTEP- After winning their first game, they battled Texas Texas until 1 in the morning
LA Tech- Took ULL (the Sun Belt's preseason #1) to the wood shed
Right now it looks like any one of those programs could challenge for the division title.
