Signature Loss?
We talk about good losses all the time in basketball. I realize that the same rules do not apply in football, however this was a great effort by the Tigers tonight. This team would have lost to UCLA by 50 points three years ago. I could not be more proud. No doubt this will be a season of great moments.

Hanging tough against a potential CFB Playoff team on the road? Yeah, this could get interesting...

This will receive lots of run and talk on college sports shows and talk radio throughout the week. I am not sure how someone could watch that game and not feel like we are a good football team. UCLA did not play bad and just allow us to stick around. This team played great and held their own against a top 15 team.

Great effort. Defense played good enough to keep us in it. While I am not convinced that UCLA is the 11th best team in the country, they are definitely a top 25 team and we played them close. We had a few penalties but some of those were home cooking. Paxton has a big arm. Would have loved to see us take a few more shots down the field, especially at the end. We can play with anyone left on our slate if we don't turn the ball over. Remember guys, our coach is still learning how to coach in close games too. Unfortunately we haven't had a lot of those to refer to. Love the fight in this team. If we have ever had a good loss then this is it. This game should build our confidence for the rest of the year. If we can stay positive and avoid the injury bug, (we still are very young) we should be bowling this year. Results should surface in the third year of a new coach's regime and we are right on schedule. Lets build on the positives from this game and correct the mistakes. Yes, we are disappointed with the loss, but we realize that we have come a loooooonggg way from where we were. GO TIGERS!!!!!

RE: Signature Loss?
I listened to the entire game with a UCLA crew. They could not stop talking about our offense and how we never stopped fighting back. I have to agree, we came out on the short end of the stick but played so hard, fought so tough. UCLA should take this and run.

I believe our future foes won't like what they saw in this game one bit.

Go Tigers!

LOL, that reminds me. Right after the national anthem at the game Saturday, a Tiger fan about 4 rows behind me shouted GO TO HELL OLE MISS!

I told him that was probably the FIRST time that particular phrase had been uttered at the Rose Bowl.
