Close but No Cigar Week
vs the P5 this week...
UTSA lost to Arizona by 3
UAB lost to Miss St by 13
WKU lost to Illinois by 8
MT lost to Minnesota by 11
ODU lost to NC State by 12
Great showings this week by our league...and 7-0 vs the G5. Could CUSA win the Access Bowl this year?
We've got one more chance as UTEP and Texas Tech are underway. UTEP gets a field goal to go up 3-0.

Texas Tech is pretty awful this year, judging by last week. I thought UTEP would be able to handle them.

C-USA has 7 wins against the FBS. The rest of the G5 has 7 combined. The American is the worst with only one (Temple over Vanderbilt). The MAC, MWC, and Sun Belt have 2 apiece.

Don't tell the AAC that. As long as UCF is on someone's board, the aac fans swear they are in the "power 6" not matter what the national news, writers, or other Power 5 (I hate writing that) think.

Slightly off topic, but Duke 34, Troy 17 makes UAB 48, Troy 0 look even better this morning.

If as is often said, a team improves most between its first and second game, one may ask if this is as good as Troy may get? True, it is not our problem, but they are still among the W-L count as our season progresses.
As UAB continues to build its more competitive infrastructure (facilities), I still hold to my stated belief that UAB has far greater upside potential than its more rural instate relative in Pike County. USA with the recent growth of metro Mobile's industrial base, is to me the far greater long range threat to UAB for the #3 spot in Alabama D1 football.

I thought it was hyperbole.

+1. The #10 SEC team just took us to the woodshed. Fortunately, # 11 is on the schedule. Maybe we'll beat them.

we lost but they hardly took us to the woodshed. if we can keep Clark more than three years we might have to give up playing SEC teams because they wont want to play us.

What woodshed, were you at that game?
Hell, if wasn't for the mistakes we made and the ref had not of been pricks and gave us that onside kick that we really recovered it would've been closer.

How else are we to interpret "just took us to the woodshed"?
