ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan's Rich Rodriguez says Purdue coach Danny Hope blamed him for getting one of his players suspended.
Rodriguez says Hope introduced him to guard Zach Reckman after the Boilermakers' 38-36 win Saturday and said, "Thanks Coach, we appreciate what you did."
Reckman was suspended for a game because of a late hit against Northern Illinois in September.
Rodriguez said on the same day he would ask the Big Ten to punish non-football acts after seeing a Big Ten player hit an opponent with a forearm on TV. Michigan linebacker Jonas Mouton was suspended for punching a Notre Dame player the previous week.
Hope issued a statement through school spokesman Tom Schott, saying his conversation with Rodriguez would remain between them.

We only lose 2 LBs (Bass & Santa) and one DB (Durante) after this year as well.
If we can replace Jimmie Ward, everyone is replaceable. All the seniors on D are good but each have a solid 2 backing them up. The quality of the underclassmen is impressive. It seems as if we are gerting some needed leadership from this senior group; important given the quality seniors we lost last year.

Just before the TD pass to Brown, the announcer commented on the NIU unsportsmanlike penalty..."Have some poise. You have the lead right now and you do stupid things like that. It throws your whole game planning off, play calling off...among other things." (then ball is snapped for a TD).
He is right. But, of course he failed to mention that the Northwestern guy was yanking on two handfuls of Huskie jerseys.
1) Brown's TD catch was amazing but how good was his special teams play on McIntosh's quick kick?
2) After Brown's catch on the long bomb is was awesome to see the PAT (even though it was blocked) because that end zone is filled with red.
3) When does Fitzgerald get canned?
Don't think Fitz is gone after this year. His top coordinators are all but gone if they don't turn it around IMO. I think their OC has been there for Fitz entire tenure
It was a great game, and all the details have pretty much been covered.
We got to the NU campus around noon, and I did not think we could make it to lot 108 before it filled up, so we just took the first open parking lot we could find, and set up camp there. We ended up having to pay $30 to park there, but it was only two blocks from the stadium, so I am not complaining too hard.
I just saw the game on TV a couple days ago, and that was helpful, because now I know where to go to get my golf knickers.

Coordinators (especially offense) are on the hot seat. Fitz has a long term deal I doubt he gets the ax but you never can be too sure of anything in college athletics
