Some perspective
I was having Lynch withdraw today, remembering when we'd score 23 poinst in a quarter.
But I had the same Harnish withdraw in 2012 when Lynch started.
In Lynch's first start, against Iowa, we had:
201 total yards, 147 rushing, 54 passing, and we lost, 18-17.
Today we had:
401 total yards,221 rushing, 180 passing, and we won 23-15.
We know how the rest of the year went.
I know NU lost the game more than we won, but we won over NU for the first time, ever.
I feel bad for McIntosh, but Hare looks like the guy. He reminds me of Harnish, actually.
UNLV will be a good test, but I hope we stick with one QB for the game, that beng HAre. He came through today and he's earned it.

RE: Some perspective
QB is probably the hardest and most important position in football and breaking in new guys rarely goes well right off the bat. Hopefully Hare (or whomever starts, Carey you troll!) takes the job and runs with it.

Hare looked awfully good today, I hope that he won the job and that Carey stays with him. If he does, he will continie to improve and I think that we can compete for a MAC championship.

Wildcats certainly helped us by shooting themselves in the foot with holding penalties, dropped TD pass. Our D showed more than I expected, given the young guys out there....not so with our O line, but I see them doing better as the season moves on. Our kicking game is a concern (missed 25 yd FG and extra point).
Big surprise: number 42 was out there running hard - what happened to the 4 wk injury?

Those holding penalties certainly a result of NIU D getting to the QB...5 sacks and tons of QB hits.

I thought the amount of pressure on the QB today was impressive. I did not expect it.

NIUs defense looks much better than anticipated. They have some serious speed, especially the pass rushers. Meehan, Ford, and Lemon made the tackles look like high school players.

The D line drew a ton of holding penalties and the linebackers were flying around. It was fun, and zone defense is rarely fun. Still had to blitz some to get pressure but it was a very good defensive game.

Rush D has been awesome so far through 2 games and 69 rushes against, only allowing 2.1 YPC.

That's huge. I've also been pleased with the secondary. Logan seems to be an improved more consistent player. Smalls and Olootu look like the real deal. Think if. Olootu had the size of Albert Smalls, and we had two true freshman corners over 6 foot.
But they both have skill, so that's what matters.

I think we saw on that long TD pass at the end of the game why Moore was moved to safety.
