Taking the Panthers, but I wouldn't put my own cash on the line for this game.

Love both programs! I will just enjoy watching the game although I think Pitt has more to gain/lose.

Looks like Chryst is trying to turn Pitt into Wisconsin with that rushing attack.

Why can't that Pittsburgh kicker Blewitt miss? Pittsburgh looks strong, when does Pittsburgh play Iowa?

Chryst was the architect of that offense. Yes, he is trying to replicate it here. He has put a lot of emphasis on OL recruiting. Now in year 3 it is paying some dividends.

I like this Pitt team a lot. I think they can do some big things which is the first time in a while I can say that.

Had a fun night. I watched the first half at an Irish Pub in Oakland, then I ventured across the street to watch the game on the big screen. Got a little scary at the end.

RE: Pitt/BC
Aw, it wasn't that scary. That game was not nearly as close as the score would have you believe. Pitt was in control pretty much the entire way. They couldn't stop our power running game and if you can't stop the other team from running the football, it is very difficult to beat them.

I really like with Steve Addazio is building at Boston College. I sincerely believe he was a great hire by them and is a very good fit there. In time, think he is going to be very successful there. That is not an empty platitude, that is my sincere opinion. He has a lot of charisma and a clear vision for what he wants to build there. Also, BC has proven in the past that you can recruit offensive linemen to that program and that is exactly what he is going to do. I was especially impressed with how hard BC competed last night all the way up to the end of that game.

Also that Murphy kid is a very good athlete. However, as a passer he is pretty raw and that was often evident last night. Right now, he is really only capable of beating you with his legs. He is too inconsistent of the passer to beat you with his arm. However, he clearly has arm talent and will become more consistent as the season progresses. As he improves his passing consistency, that team is going to become much more difficult to defend.

I predict that Boston College will upset a team or two along the way this year on the legs/arm of Murphy.

Interestingly enough, I read somewhere awhile back that when Barry Alvarez took over at Wisconsin, he tried to mold that team along the lines of what Pitt used to be known for - strong OL and strong DL players. Maybe it's just coming full circle back to Pitt.

I agree with you about Addazio. I actually picked BC to win last night but Pitt was impressive. Pitt may compete for the division title this year.

Pitt's schedule sets up nicely for them. I can definitely see them winning 9 games. I do believe they will lose at UNC. Just sayin...........
