I think this season could satiate some's appetites for what the sanctions did to them. They'll be much better next season, in theory. I have my doubts on Franklin, especially on defense.

PSU's just lucky its schedule is filled enough with enough bad teams that 5 or 6 wins could be had and people will celebrate it.

Wonder if they are ignoring the helmet to helmet hits. ISU has placed 2 on the KSU QB and not gotten flagged. First one, in the first half, was a little hard to see, but 2nd was real obvious-he lead with the helmet-and on a key 2 pt conversion. QB shaken up on both. Last year the players would have been kicked out of the game.

Nebraska pulls off the late win over McNeese State 31-24

Winning in embarrassing fashion:

• UCONN eeks out 19 - 16 win against Stony Brook
• Nebraska eeks out a win against McNeese very late in the game.
• PSU beats Akron 21-7...ESPN box score says PSU "powers" to a win but the reality is that they were stymied for much of the game - even if it wasn't much doubt who would win.
• Navy beats an overmatched Temple team, but I guess service academies aren't in the business of maximizing FB prowess anyways, so maybe not an embarrassment per se.
