I get no enjoyment seeing a human being humiliated. Granted, Chris obviously dug his own grave, but no matter your feelings toward him, let's give credit where credit is due. A lot of great things occurred on his watch. The Jack, the baseball and soccer facilities. Hiring Joe Foley as our women's basketball coach. So let's try and focus on the positive accomplishments and hope we can move on from here to be the type of program we all want. I personally wish Chris well in his future endeavors. As someone else said, I would have preferred he left for a better job instead of the way it went down. We all make mistakes. His just happened to be in a public situation. I know he has a lovely wife and I feel bad for her having to share his public humiliation. But he's a tough guy, and he'll survive. Let's hope he has learned some life lessons and someone gives him another chance.04-cheers

Did the university really have to release the tape? Why publicly embarrass the guy and, in turn, the university.

Yes, the university had to release the recording of the broadcast. The Arkansas Times requested the recording under the guidelines of the Freedom of Information Act, which requires public entities to release pretty much any information that's requested to anyone who requests it, not just the media. For example, if you search around enough, you can find salaries of every UALR employee. UALR is a public institution, thus it's all public information.

Yeah, I think one of the local media outlets did a foia request. Is that investigator still investigating the baseball program. I figure that can't be swept under the rug since that person made accusations that the baseball program was doing things that could be ncaa violations.

I guess it would be time for the university to come clean. They could argue that they have now gotten rid of the problem and beg for mercy.

Fingers crossed that if there are any issues it's just isolated to the baseball program since that is were the accusations were directed. You never know how things turn out when outsiders start questioning present or current athletes, parents, high school coaches etc. It's amazing a little issue can sometimes blow up and expose a lot more than the original issue.

According to this, Chris was making a little more than $182,000. Steve is the highest-paid employee at UALR, at $230,000+.

Fund raiser deluxe. Are you kidding me. I guess that is why all the big money boosters are leaving the program. I guess that is why the department is financially strapped and the basketball teams are looking at taking a bus to Appalachian State, a 12 hour bus ride. I guess that is why they dropped mens soccer, water polo and mens and womens tennis and are, I think, two sports under what the Sun Belt requires a school to have to be a member of the conference. All because the AD was a fund raiser deluxe. If he was a fund raiser deluxe they would be rolling in dough. He might still be the AD. And don't give me the bull about raising money for the Stephens Center, baseball field and the Coleman complex. UALR would have gotten the money from the Stephens family no matter who was the AD. We can thank the University of Arkansas and their arrogance for that. He did not raise money for Hogan Field. A former player who was very successful after school approached UALR about donating that money. And I believe somebody else pointed out student fees are paying for the Coleman complex. And I guess the reason they cannot keep a fund raiser on staff in the athletic department is because he is a fund raiser deluxe which leaves the staff person nothing to do but pick up the ADs laundry at the cleaners. Give me a break.

PR 101, Chancellor Anderson is doing everything by the book as far as crisis management goes. Whether the media asked or not, he had to release it all same as he did with baseball. This is not the University of Arkansas you are dealing with, but UALR. Hats off to Chancellor Joel Anderson. UA-Fayetteville does everything it can do to try and hide any misdeeds and UALR is definitely above board and transparent. Job well done UALR. Business students pay attention.
