The Departed
I just saw that for the first time in about six years and picked up a lot of stuff I didn't the first time.

Did you all like that movie? Did you get it, the plot?

I immediately got that it was loosely based on whitey bulger, especially jack nicholson's character.

The ending was a clusterf to me, and ruined it. One of the most overrated movies, along with Scarface and Pulp Fiction.

I thought it was good. Better the second time. And I had to rewind to be sure about a couple of things. Scarface wasn't that big of a deal to me, but I loved Pulp Fiction.

I liked "The Departed". Excellent acting all the way around. The "don't cry over spilt guineas" line was delivered classic Nicholson.
One thing about "The Departed"---------there will be no sequel.

I will say, until the ending, I was hooked.

What was wrong with the ending?

Felt like lazy writing, catering to the lust for deathporn. If it was a testament to the commercialization of an artistic form, setting aside plot for violence in satire form, with livestream of audience drooling over blood, ok, I get the irony. At least the South Park episode where the kids played junior detectives was intended to be humorous. Seemed like two different movies to me.

Good acting, though. Ending made me roll my eyes. May have also included a frustrated groan, hahaha.
