Right, that was my point. They were your aunt and uncle after they were married, but he wasn't your uncle before they got married. Your aunt got married, not your aunt and your uncle.

They are already married. So by saying "when my Aunts got married" he was not incorrect. Just as if I were talking about the wedding between my Aunt and Uncle and I say "I got hammered at my Aunt and Uncle's wedding."

I truly thought this whole time his two aunts married each other. Maybe it is a regional idiom in the Memphis-Cincinnati corridor, but that isn't how I have ever heard it worded. I might hear "my gay uncle married another man", but not "my two uncles got married".
