Georgia only has a 20-yard indoor facility?

Correct, and also correct that the fans have been calling for one. However, I'm not sure that the AD or Richt agrees. I heard a radio interview with Richt recently and he said that they had 3 practices affected by weather all of 2013 and that it wasn't a priority.

Who's "flapping their gums"? Are you talking about the GS poster that posted a joke and then a ULL fan overreacted? Did you register just to post this? Lighten up.

Assuming you're meaning an invite to another conference...how reliable do we really think the bolded statement is? Do you really think the nine schools that recently got CUSA invites have better toys than Louisiana?

No....

If UGA was going to have an IPF with a full-sized field they would have to build it somewhere off the main campus away from the other football facilities. There's no room for such a thing anywhere around their football complex. When you look at their stadium it seems amazing enough that they managed to fit that thing on campus.

Random thoughts:

I thought a lot of schools ( including ULL ) prided themselves on hot humid training camps that toughened up the team.
Anyone worried that practicing indoors in air conditioned comfort will soften the lot?

I can't tell from the fish eyed photos, but some of the IPFs look to be smaller than regulation - is that so?
That wouldn't be good. ( width wise that is. If you only want to score 50yd TDs, a 50 yd long field would work ).

Other than the aforementioned air conditioning, doesn't seem to me that recruits would care if they
practiced indoors or out.

Coaches, on the other hand, can rest some of their paranoia about competitors spying on their
super secret quintuple reverse flea flicker for the big game.

Are those things actually air conditioned? I wouldn't think so, the costs would be enormous, especially in S. Louisiana.

Are you kidding? non-air conditioned cooled building in Tallahassee, in the summer. That would decimate the Noles football in one evening. Actually 10 minutes.

Cajuns facility IS NOT air conditioned, although it does have Big Ass Fans. Literally.

I'm sure the reason for the original construction of the IPF was rain, not heat. The practice fields are natural grass. This has save them from having to practice in EK Long gym or other indoor locations when the practice fields were soaked and unplayable without damaging them.

I'd think a Louisiana-Lafayette fan would call teams by their proper names.

I will call them by what they brand sports, LOUISIANA RAGIN' CAJUNS. And I will call GSU by its deserved name, EMBARRASMENT!

Did you know it's possible to talk smack without being a complete and total jerk? Also, correct punctuation will help get your point across and add more weight to it.

It is a fair point to say that some of our fan base is cocky about our success, however one could say the same about some ULL fans. That's confusing to me as your program is just now achieving success and is still 36 games under .500. So let's let the season play out and see what happens.

An IPF ain't going to be the ticket to a P5 conference. It'll boost recruiting and coaching though. And maybe just maybe that'll be enough to wina ton of games and get an invite. Unless you are Boise. Also you have to worry about schools like LSU saying no I doubt think we want to share our market.

No if being left behind means a CUSA invite then sure whatever. Too bad at this point its just the house next door.

Its not over, sounds like you are whining.

Let's be honest here. The "New" Cajun program over the last 5 years has improved tremendously from the previous 20 years. With that said, the elephant in the room is that you never beat P5 teams. Let's not even talk about the A&M win 20 years ago or the Kansas St win 5 years ago. One was a long time ago and the other is the second best program in a small basketball state.

With that said, I will be pulling hard for the Cajuns against Ole Miss and Boise. You definitely need to win the Boise game if you want people to take you serious as a program on the rise. If you win both of those games, then you have plenty to gloat about considering your record over the past few seasons. If you lose both, then I'll still be a bit skeptical of your self adorned greatness.

Our signature win will have to come against the SEC. We have beat Kansas St and Texas A&M before. We have literally choked away games against Arizona, Kansas St, eUSC (twice), Ok State, Arkansas and finally Florida. We just need to find a way to close the door on some victories.
