Right. Most of us didn't like how the new basketball court looked when pics first came out, but once it was seen in person, it was better received.

I'll reserve full judgment until I see it in person, but it ain't looking too good right now.

It does look like upright Blaze. That version of Blaze has always looked more awkward to me than the one with the longer neck that they put on flags and some t-shirts, but this one might be the right look for a statue.

Should have asked Clark's son to design a statue as well.

I don't really mind it because it is the upright Blaze that has been on shirts, hats, etc. dating back to my time. If it were a Blaze head, that's different, but this is an entire Blaze as it's standing on a pedestal. I do think the old encircled Blaze like what was on the basketball floor would look cool, too.
Bronze would be better IMO, but this is fine.

That actually does look better in a more normal setting than in the first photo.

So that picture must have happened pretty recently? Because I was walking my dog around Bartow at 10:30am and there wasn't a statue there yet.

And yes, judging from that picture, he looks great out in his natural habitat.

I hate to be negative, but I can't say I'm a fan. I wish we'd get away from the cartoon look.

It was put up there within the last 30 minutes or so.

It could be scarier, but it could also have gone badly in the other direction. I'm happy with it.

It does look better from this angle, but I do think it would have looked more impressive with bigger wings. Right now it looks a wee bit stunted...sort of like the tubby dragon from "How to Train Your Dragon".
