First of all, I am old as dirt, so my responses to people on any blog follow what I was taught. I know it really doesn't fit with today's generation, or being computer literate, but you will just have to bear with me. Sorry it does not fit your way of responding. I hope this explanation helps.
You get points for being consistent...I'll give you that.
Are you talking about Ken or Nacho?

But that football program is not a point of pride for the University and it doesn't draw the community support that WMU does. The two are barely comparable in most every respect. Our season last year was a disaster but for us that stands out as unique.
The athletic budget at EMU has more mouths to feed, and football is not a moneymaker. The type of athletes you get are kids with few other options and the attrition rate is high under every coach. You've got players getting killed off campus, and revenge beatings but you always have minor incidents (thank god they tore down the ypsi/arbor bowl). EMU football straddles the line between pitiful and embarrassing. Gameday at Rynearson is a joke and your own students aside from a few either don't care or find it funny. Besides liking EMU and liking football there are few compelling reasons to continue playing.
Right Lame I mean Liam EMU winning the Cartwright Award apparently escaped you in terms of the quality of athletes that play for EMU. And that pitiful and embarrassing beats what you guys put on the field on a consistent basis.

RE: EMU Players Charged with Assault
Sometimes it takes outside perspective to let you know that your program has a perception problem. Its like the frog in the pot of water, he'll jump out of hot water but boil alive as the water slowly heats. Yes its just one murder and subsequent beating, and the English recording was an isolated incident. Attendance is not great anywhere in the MAC, you beat Western a couple years in a row, hey pretty good crowd for the opener I even saw a couple people tailgating.
In totality though you are the worst program in college football. You have little fan support, no success to point to or any prospects for success. The University doesn't need the albatross of an embarrassing football program especially one with high profile violence when they are dealing with a perception of being an unsafe campus. EMU has the equivalency of an empty residence hall on campus they are so under capacity. Student retention and low graduation rates are a problem. With the cost of college escalating its almost immoral to ask students to subsidize this program that they don't care about for the benefit of nobody in particular. How can you justify funding football at the highest level when less than 1000 people show up for a game?

As much as it pains me to say it I agree with almost everything said in this post.

RE: EMU Players Charged with Assault
EMU football is irrelevant, and has been for a long time. The last halfway decent season we had was when I was a freshman in 1995. Obviously a long time ago. I don't see us being competitive anytime soon, for a variety of reasons/variables.
That being said, I don't need to be lectured by WMU fans/alums on our irrelevance when WMU has exactly zero bowl wins in its entire HISTORY, and may have the worst coaching staff in FBS.
