Teams get wins, not individuals.

Voted for Rose. Sapp is impressive for a true freshman against a huge ACC OL but I don't know how to quantify his contribution.

And how much of Upshaw's yardage was in garbage time. He did get more yards than Cox.

Naw, undecided
I like what both Rose and Upshaw did but I am factoring in TD's here. Our guy only had 4 rushes for 20 yds (5.0 avg) but also got 2 TD's in the process.
Not his fault they pulled his RS in the 4th and we spread the RB duties between 5 guys. Wasn't even supposed to play. Gotta do a little more thinkin' I guess.
They pulled his RS in the 4th quarter?
They took out Lowe, Franks and Best when it got out of hand. Gay was sidelined with an injury and Nutall has academic issues. That's our 5 deep @ RB. Mayberry and Rubin were, IMHO, going to be redshirted ...at least Rubin. We don't need 7 RBs on the roster; unless there's a catastrophe. Always good to have a true frosh redshirted to have a RB in each class.
Franks is a Senior, Lowe , Gay & Nutall are Jrs. Best has another year due to medical RS last year(JUCO). Maybe you bring Stedman off the bench but you want that other guy sitting to have a freshman at the ready for 2015; instead of depending on some phenom next year to come in and be ready to go .
Couch coach, I guess.

(I know Best was converted to slot but he's a RB at heart)

While on the subject of RB's, do you know what happened to Jamel James?
James became academically ineligible and transferred.

Upshaw started and went against their best. Our Doak Walker candidate Cox had been scoped not long ago so didn't play as much as he might normally.

Just a little aside about our Freshman RB Louis Rubin. (5'9", 223)
He's 23. He is a Spring walk-on. After HS he spent 4 years in the Army before coming back to college. So, those 2 TDs were really something special to him, his wife and his family (yes, he's married).

This might have already been addressed and I missed it, but can they be RS Freshman or do they have to be true freshman?

RS Freshmen are considered the same as Freshmen.
