Everyone in that challenge just cheated with scripts and what not anyways. It wasn't battle of the best mascot, or battle of the fans bases, it was battle of the computer nerds

They cheated anyway, massive use of scrips, hundreds of thousands of votes at 11 PM and hour before each dead line, come on man. They started attacking other teams they weren't matched up against to give L's. That's probably why they can't be in it this year.

RE: It's a conspiracy against the AAC
At least USF won it last year lol

I hate those competitions though. UCF got pretty into it with the #6thFan competition a couple months ago. All the smaller schools were pouring their souls into the use of scripts and it just ruined the fun from the competition. We eventually got a script of our own, but we were too late.

UCF got into the top 4 and had a decent lead going into the final hours against Texas-Pan American, but BYU blitzkrieged the HELL out of us in the last hour by voting for Texas-Pan Am. They were definitely the most deserving fanbase though. They had marathons of voting on their board and endless threads about it

Can't script the votes unfortunately. UC won this a few years back and they protected their site from script kiddies.

You couldn't vote more than 1 time a day (if I remember right) from specific IPs. Those scripts were basically worthless.

Wrong, some ECU fans used them aswell. Our first lose in the challenge we were leading 58%
to 42% ten minutes left, then bam 250k votes the other way.

And, you could vote as much as you wanted each day. The site that plain as day.

When UC won it a few years back there was most assuredly a protection against scripts and a limit on how many votes you could make per day.

RE: It's a conspiracy against the AAC
I've never cared for those competitions. It's more about who has the best foamed, cartoony mascot than about how cool it is. They're like clowns or Disney characters, not allowed to speak and best served as a way of getting the 7-and-under crowd to blush.

I'm a much bigger fan of live animal or even people mascots. West Virginia's, I think, is pretty cool because he/she looks like a raccoon-trapping, truly woodsy, old mashioned mountain man. I like LSU's live tiger, Ralphie (Texas), the Colorado live buffalo, and Florida State's authentically dressed "Osceola." Even Notre Dame's mascot is pretty cool.

Do any American schools have live mascots? UConn Husky? Cincinnati Bearcat (which would be awesome to see at a game)? Does USF have a live bull mascot? Does UCF have an armored knight who rides in on horse or anything like that? Any of those things are more worthy of winning a competition for best mascot, IMO.

The Cincinnati zoo has a bearcat (binturong is the scientific name) that comes to UC games. Lucy Bearcat is her name. Before that they had Alice, but towards the end of her life they had to keep her out of public venues as she had become a bit senile.
