The obvious choice. He looked cool, calm and collected in the opener. He has the experience and the skills. If we need to use Hare, do so later on. But go with Mcintosh.

Good choice, although I thought Hare's athleticism was underrated on here. Maddie has big play potential but he throws it too much at players' feet. Still I hope we see him brought in for some packages a la Harnish/Lynch 2011.

Congrats to McIntosh. He looked to have a good control over the offense and has the physical skills to make some plays.

I never liked those. When Lynch was in we always ran it. We were basically telegraphing our next play to the defense when we did that.

Well it worked. In 2011 Lynch rushed 45 times for 5.5 ypc on average but threw 20 times to keep them honest. Maddie can throw a deep ball; he's just not consistent enough to play every down IMO. If Maddie is as strong (maybe) and tough (probably not) as Lynch was he can make it work. You have the line to do it. Plus if you think he might be taking over from Mac it's a good idea to throw him out there to ease the transition.

We ran unbalanced, so even if it's predictable, it can't be stopped if it's executed.

Fitz admitted that NU was not prepped for Cal's 2 QBs. We have 2 QBs, maybe waiting would have been better or announce Mac but get Hare in there also

McIntosh appeared more poised than the other 2, but he threw some very poor throws other than the TD throw to Brown in the end zone. His throws on the quick screens were weak.

None of the QBs looked real sharp on the shorter throws, it did make you realize how spoiled we have been with Lynch and Harnish in that regard. Part of it was probably nerves though, and hopefully that will improve as season goes on (but probably not this week is my fear).

I don't really see the need for this...what can hare do that MAC can't? I get the maddie because his scrambling abilities, but not hare

There's not that much of a difference between the three of them. It's the same offense, except McIntosh does the best job of executing it.

Besides, according to some people on here, not announcing it was causing the entire program to lay awake at night wondering why the head coach was such a poor leader of men.

He was just saving everyone's stomach linings. And, according to Maddawg, NIU conceded this game weeks ago.

Exactly I am not convinced one bit that McIntosh plays this whole game.

Mac starts the game....the rest is single wing, no QB action!
