That's an impressive OOC

Turned out to be a fairly good OOC schedule for La Tech. In July it was looking like a terrible OOC schedule was shaping up.

A top tier exempt tournament really would have made that a great schedule though. Maybe with some success this year you guys will get invited to a better early season tournament next year.

Temple, Morehead St., American and Presbyterian is part of a tournament (just not one that will help RPI wise)

Coach White isn't happy with our non-conference schedule:

"I hate to say it, but I am not overly pleased with our non-conference schedule. We took some more swings at other teams. You would like to have some SEC and ACC programs on your schedule. You would like to get one of them to come here and we struggle with it. We finished our schedule very late. We spent months and months on it. I put a lot of emails, phone calls and texts into it. We struck out a bunch honestly. I do feel like we bulked it up in a couple of areas, in the fact that we have Syracuse and NC State on the road. Those will obviously be huge challenges. The Coaches vs. Cancer allows us to go to Temple, who I think will be improved from last year. They have a storied tradition there and it will be a hard place to play."

I'm sure you'll find very few coaches outside top 6-7 conferences that are happy with their OOC schedules.

We got a fair number of games against power conference teams this year, but only one at home. I'm sure our coach isn't too thrilled with that, but it is what it is.

44. Louisiana Tech at Syracuse (Dec. 14)

The Bulldogs won 29 games last season after notching 27 victories in 2012-13. Unfortunately, neither one of those campaigns produced anything more than a trip to the NIT. As a direct result, Tech has beefed up its non-conference schedule this season, which includes the chance to make a huge statement with a win inside the Carrier Dome

Minnesota, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Saint Joes make for a great core of OOC opponents. Belmont and Murray State are nice middle tier opponents as well.

The Toppers have certainly given themselves an OOC schedule that could earn them at at large if they take care of business.

Amazing

Middle Tennessee snagged a home and home with VCU. This year's game at Middle Tennessee on Dec. 2, with the 2016-17 game at VCU.

VCU will probably be down from last year, though how much will depend on how much Korey Billbury helps from Oral Roberts and whether the Rams can get Terry Larrier to return to the program. Still, it's a nice get for Middle Tennessee.
