Because the teams in question are Temple & Memphis

A team that smacked a p5 bowl team and one that annihilated a crappy team. But don't let that stop your butthurt.

1) only an idiot uses the "bowl team" line on vandy. everyone knows that their team got absolutely gutted this offseason and only a shell of its former self.

2. my comments are not troll comments, but a totally honest assessment. CFB programs under no circumstances treated equally in the polls. It comes down to the history/fanbase of the program, recent success (anywhere from the last few weeks to the last few seasons), or their conference. considering that these two schools fail all three of those categories in spectacular fashion, it seems unwarranted for them to be receiving any votes in the polls at this point in time regardless of whether or not they are deserving of votes or not.

Not true at all. I live in Nashville and Vandy is stacked with talent.

You are making mountain out of a mole hill.

If it is then Texas Tech only has one more vote than Memphis and Temple...

That means collectively they would be 40th.

Just an FYU both memphis and temple have their coach voting in the poll, and both of those teams ended up with just one #25 vote. ==> doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out guys...

As disappointing as it may be, coaches are not allowed to nominate their own team. Although it doesn't take a rocket scientist, it still requires more thought than you implied. Although not clearly stated, it appears coaches can vote for their respective teams once they are nominated by another voter.

If Memphis receives a second vote next week, it may very well be their coach's vote. Of course if they do receive additional votes next week, it would most likely be due to defeating UCLA.

Good for Memphis and Temple!
I am in agreement with the statement that our coaches should vote for our teams if given the chance.
SEC is the best conference, but even when they are getting waxed by another conference their coaches vote them up as the loss is clearly and "anomaly". And it can be "proven" when they beat one of their their strong conference mates.

Look at the two years aTm and Mizzou have been in the SEC and the success they had. Look at how Nebraska has fared in the Big 10. These coaches know they need to vote their conference up for respectability.

When we perform on the field, in or out of conference, out coaches need to vote up our own.

I won't speak about Temple as I'm just not knowledgeable enough about their roster, but I wouldn't have voted for Memphis as a top 25 team and can't imagine why anyone would do so.

Having said that, "unwarranted.....whether or not they are deserving" regardless of the timing, makes absolutely no sense for not voting for any program's ranking. That sounds like a coach from a P5 conference explaining why he didn't vote for UCF in this poll.
