I predict UConn wins against SB with only single digits. Maybe even OT.

If you watched the game, how could you possibly miss him running backwards at the snap when there was no pressure on him?

He looked like the same old Whitmer.

im more a results guys than mechanics. on the byu game alone, whitmer had better results on his drives..

and throwing motion & "happy feet" aside whitmer actually has a stronger arm than cochran

9/6 - Navy @ Temple
9/6 - Maryland @ South Florida
9/6 - Georgia Tech @ Tulane

If ECU can pull the upset I could go undefeated this week!

RE: Week 2 Prediction Thread
Need to keep the mojo going..

UConn 30 SBU 17 - Before SBU lost to Bryant last week I thought they had a chance. They do get Marcus Coker back....
SMU 24 North Texas 21 - The Mustangs scratch out a W
Oklahoma 52 Tulsa 24 - This one will be ugly...
Temple 24 Navy 24 - this is a great test for the Owls...
Maryland 38 USF 14 - Maryland looked impressive against a decent FCS foe last week...
Georgia Tech 27 Tulane 14 - Paul Johnson's team spoils Tulane's big day....
South Carolina 35 ECU 27 - SC did not look good last week. Still I can't see them starting 0-2....
Houston 52 Grambling 17 - perfect rebound...
UCLA 45 Memphis 14 - Mora will have his guys ready after a sluggish start against UVA....

I follow FCS as closely as FBS...

SBU had a shocking loss to Bryant last week. The Seawolves did play without their star RB, Marcus Coker, so that really hurt. Still, Bryant is a 40 schollie NEC team.

This team is not nearly as good as Towson was last year. Coker is a very good back but Terrance West was in another league...

You are the first person I've ever heard say anything remotely like that.

Whitmer got very low ratings for his performance (never giving the team a chance, giving up on plays, scrambling for his life before pressure) whereas Casey stood tall in the pocket.

Cochran actually lead UConn to 3 victories last year and had 400-500 yard passing games. He is light years ahead of Whitmer.

i agree on last years assessment ..but as far as the byu game whitmer played better, cochran didnt look very comfortable.

even if cochran wasnt hurt, diaco would have split reps with them

and something i noticed is that if last year didnt happen and it was clean slate with no previous game film. i feel 80% chance whitmer would be starter..did you see his press conference on naming cochran the starter? in short he said whitmer is the better qb, but Cochran knows how to get the team to rally behind him and has "intangibles"

Whitmer was the same awful QB last Friday that he has been for the entirety of his time at UConn.

Whereas.. well, look at how Cochran's actually stand sin the pocket and takes a hit, surveys the field, delivers the ball quickly.

Even the numbers from the first game favor Cochran.

It's like a night/day comparison between the two.

You should this thread on the UConn board: http://the-boneyard.com/threads/next-ive...st-1050585

uconn fans hate whitmer after going winless and casey going 3-1. last year, the chance of an impartial opinion in the uconn forum is non-existent

there was 1 good drive by uconn in the entire game, it was lead by whitmer, aswell as the field goal drive was also by whimer, and whitmer also took uconn inside the 5 in the 4th quarter, despite not getting points because diaco decided to go for it because the game was already over
http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=11434235

..he didnt get the td as it was ran in but it was his drive... i watched the game, neither were particularly good, but whitmer looked good in in comparison..again im not talking last year just in the byu game alone...

cochran had an unforced turnover ( http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=11433344 ) and had almost no successful drives in the game, had 1 decent drive in the 4 quarter but that was about it

whitmer came up with all the points despite having way less drives that cochran..

you can want to argue Cochran is better..but to say "It's like a night/day comparison between the two" is ridiculousness covered in bias and pre-decided opinion..
go watch diaco's press conference when naming the starter, he openly says as far as anything physical and being a qb on a tangible level..whitmer is better..but chose cochran on "intangibles"

if cochran was healthy ..they would have still split reps...

I'm the delusional UCONN fan everyone delighted in making fun of. That's cool, but I agree 100% with pesik here. Cochran was WAAAAAAAY too gun shy in the game last week. Channeling his inner-Brett "Gunslinger" Favre, if you will. Whitmer was the better QB last week, and I feel should get the start this week (not sure if starter was named yet).

3-1 so far... SMU disappoints me but ECU can help me a lot

AAC is off to an 0-6 start so far with ECU at South Carolina, (tight game as we speak and my upset of the week) Memphis at UCLA and Houston v FCS remaining....04-cheers
