1: Memphis has won 4 games or less (usually less) the past 5 seasons. They beat Austin Peay and all of a sudden somebody wants to rank them?

2: Somebody ranked North Dakota State. Seriously? Just because they beat Iowa St, who won all of 3 games last year and is a Big 12 cellar dweller?

The world is full of idiots, I shouldn't be surprised.

Isn't North Dakota State in the FCS?. I think they are #1 in the FCS poll. It just shows you how much some sportswriters know, lol. That is so ridiculous.

Both Georgia Southern and App St. have gotten votes in the AP poll before. I think it's probably some voter's way of being a smart ass.

Being FCS doesn't preclude you from being ranked in the AP poll. That came to light for most people when Appalachian State beat Michigan several years ago.

Beating Ole Miss will give the SBC our first top 25 team. UL really needs to win a game like this if the program wants to take a step to the next level. Until that happens, they are just another Sun Belt team in the eyes of the country. I hope they can pull it off.

Well if we were to beat Tenn and Miami, we could be ranked too.

1 of 2 would be big for Ark St and the SBC. I'd love to see it happen.

On a side note, now that we are members of the conference I am finding myself more interested in following the SBC games than the sec or national game of the week.

And that is why conferences want that new team in a new state, to bring new fans and TV's to the conference.

The number next to the team isn't votes, its Points - They had 13 Points which could be anywhere from 1-13 votes 01-lauramac2

Are we gonna have to start calling stAte "Me Too U"? 05-stirthepot

It seems like every time something positive about Louisiana comes out a stAte fan chimes in with a hey don't forget about us post.

Fortunately for the SBC, I think there will soon be more than two teams in this discussion.

I'm all for the SBC having all their teams ranked in the top 25 that would mean more victories for us against top 25 opponents. Seriously it's time for the SBC to crack the top 25 I wish it would be the Cajuns if not any of us would do.

yea, on my original post I had points, but slycat brought it to my attention that the coaches poll I posted was the preseason poll where we had 12 points, so I went correct it to the recent week 1 poll and for some reason I put 13 votes instead of points. I appreciate you pointing it out and I corrected it again.

LOL!! Cajun fans respect ASU the most in the SBC from our long term relationship and competition. But its clear some of them have adopted the same mentality as the funroe crowd. You post anything about the Cajuns from national media or otherwise, one of them is sure to comment quickly.04-rock

We're pretty happy with being YOUR defending champion of the Sun Belt conference for the last three years

Sorry, but I wouldn't trade that for anything ULL football has accomplished.
