Another instance where the Republican party is not in line with the moderates whom want a balanced budget and for them to butt out of their personal lives. Some day the Republican party will get back in line with these ideals and they'll win the election in a landslide.

Newt made Clinton more popular due to the impeachment. Went after Clinton when he was doing the same sh#t. That is why I don't like Newt... he lives in a glass house.

butt out of their personal lives but not butt out of things like gay marriage, abortion and state law.

Here in Ohio the Republican party has been associated with smoking bans, to go with the anti-gay rights laws. So yes, they should butt out of these situations. Instead they want to legislate morality.
Newt is a very intelligent man. I have had the opportunity to hear him speak in person and he is a powerful speaker with great ideas. As many have pointed out, women are not his forte!
However, it seems that it is not always a level playing field. Dems are only interested in the character and principles of Conservative Adversaries lives,.... not their own!

I can't speak for the Democrats, but I can speak to my personal issues with Newt. He portrayed himself as a very religious and conservative person, went after Clinton on morality, then we found out he was doing much of the same crap.
That being said, as a politician I liked him and Clinton. They ran the best federal government of my lifetime, having a surplus in the budget, limiting welfare and military spending.

But the minute a business refuses to give a service to things like gay weddings, you want the federal and state courts to step in.

Strike 2. Would you like to see if you can strike out?
I was very adamant on being in support of Hobby Lobby too.

Your continuing idiocy doesn't make me have made any statements that you are attributing to me. I think Obamacare is a terrible idea and failure. I think forcing someone to provide birth control is unconstitutional. I think suing a private business over not providing you a service is dumb as they are the ones losing business. Doesn't matter if someone is gay, straight, black, white, or brown... all their money spends the same, green.
Newt is usually the smartest guy in the room. However, he can't win a general election. It would be very smart for someone who can win to make him a part of their campaign and cabinet though.
