If Putin really wanted Ukraine he could just take it. Nobody, especially the US, would do anything to stop him. Sure, we'd complain a lot, but that's about it. Maybe a few more sanctions here or there.

"hardball" implies that someone on the other side is at least trying to hit or pitch. that's just not the case here. Putin could have most of the Ukraine just by asking for it with a slightly angry tone in his voice.

She can even link Haliburton to the current Ukrainian president and show how this all leads back to George Bush and the Supreme Court decision on the Florida recount.

I read that, and I believe there is a reason that those people have never had any substantial policy influence and probably never will. Among them is that I know middle schoolers that could write better than they could, not to mention staying on topic.
