NCCU only averaged 2.3 yards per carry for a grand total of 70 yards on the ground but I do wish we were at full strength.

I didn't look at the stats... just being there in person, it seemed like they were able to get positive yardage on nearly every run.

ESPN:

5. South Carolina (0-1)

See above. And oh by the way, East Carolina, South Carolina's next opponent, pretty much runs the same offense as Texas A&M, only the Pirates have a quarterback that's actually played before. I don't know who'll win the game, but I already know who won the tailgate. Eastern North Carolina vinegar-based BBQ > South Carolina mustard-based atrocities.

Probably because they started going forward, after being 7 yards behind LOS

Our DL sucks ass right now so y'all should be ok.

You guys still running the same offense you ran in 2011 and 2012? One or two seconds and throw?

Yeah, we had Davis at QB in '11. Rio Johnson started against you guys in '12 but he struggled heavily and gave up the reigns to Carden in that game (first real playing time against any team for Carden). It has been Carden ever since. Same offensive scheme, just a tiny tad more complex than it was the first two years. Not much more though.

It's a lot less Air Raid like now, but lots of timing routes, and such.

Gonna be a great one, any of you guys coming to Columbia?

Had planned on going to Columbia and Blacksburg but schedules changed. Had a blast down there the last time. Older USC fans treated us extremely well and our kids felt welcomed.

I predict a good day for the AAC. Ecu wins, tulane turns the tide in fb and wins, temple wins.

I live in South Carolina and I can tell you that after last week, nobody is overlooking ECU. They know ECU has a good QB, they are concerned. If ECU pulls it out it will not be because USC is not ready.

I agree, Shane has to get the ball out of his hands quickly. Although I do feel pretty good because our offense is founded upon the principle of getting the ball out of the QB's hands in a hurry and SC secondary looks weak.

How is USC's D-line? Serious question, as I don't know.

Probably better than our OL.

Think we will see more screens, shovel passes and rollouts to keep USC from teeing off on us.

It will be interesting to see what LR decides to do

RE: ECU fans: (USCjr)
USC's d-line isn't great. 3 new guys I think, still getting communication and developing chemistry. The quick passing game should keep them unbalanced enough that ECU's RB's can break off a few runs here and there to keep the USC line honest. The game will be decided on whether or not ECU's receivers can get inside position off the line. Look for lots of slants and quick in routes if the ECU receivers can get a step right from the start. If USC sits back on defense and give 5-7 yards, it will be quick outs and screens. I wouldn't be surprised for ECU to come out running the first series or two to test the USC line. Ideally I'd like to see at least 60% rushing from ECU in the first qtr.
USC knows this game has to be won through the air on both sides of the ball. With USC's inexperienced and exposed DB's and a lack of a decent running game on the offensive side of the ball, this should be a wide open and fun to watch game. I won't go as far as to say ECU wins, but I'd definitely take the points. I can see anything from a 4-7 point ECU win to a 6-10 point USC win.

Don't think they have the secondary to run man press coverage. If they don't and try do it they could get beat badly over the top.

They might not be very physical, but I'd be willing to bet you that 160lb DB is a helluva athlete. It will be fun to watch.

I honestly am more worried about our defense than theirs.... I have a feeling we might get burned deep a lot. I hope not, just a feeling I have.

DT threw all over us 2 years ago. He also had some nice yards against Texas A&M. I really hope coach Smith has our pass coverage at 100%.

Bottom line....If our O line can give Carden time to toss it? This will be a good tussle. If not? We get manhandled and lose by at least 3 TDs.
