RE: Thoughts on QB play in game 1
I thought ZT played decent Saturday. Stepped up when he had to. Threw for 2 TDs versus 1 int which is better than the 1:1 ratio last year. Had a long completion of 47 or 49 yards versus a long of 19 last year.
I'll go back to the 2nd scrimmage when all 3 QBs played. ZT was the only one of the three that played with any consistency. He was head and shoulders above CT and CS. I know that was fall camp, but my takeaway that day was, "I hope ZT does not go down during the season".
That said, If WMU ever builds up a significant lead, the coaches do need to insert CT and see what he can do in an actual game. Have to have someone ready to step in if needed.

I thought he was ok as well. The last 2 drives were tough though. We needed to move the ball down the field fast, and we didn't have any "deep" options.

Not his fault. I thought our play calling/options were suspect at the end.

I can't believe you share this analysis for free.
DB's College Football Analysis
Western Michigan- Western is led by a coach who is full of himself and uses too much hair gel. I'd expect the Broncos to go 8-4 minimum with any other coach but this clown.
Central Michigan- Central is led by a quiet reserved man who went to a highschool near mine. I expect him to have a good year because he's a good guy.
Ball State- Pete Lembo coached at other schools. That gives him a big edge in my book.
EMU- Creighton also coached at other schools, he's the man.
UT- The UT coach is young and brash, and crows too much about his recruiting. You can't count on those silly stars, or a young brash, slicked back coach.
BG- Won a title last year with a solid coach and replaced him with a solid hire. I fully expect them to come out of the gate and thrash WKU.

RE: Thoughts on QB play in game 1
Finally got a chance to watch the replay.
I apologize for not having the expertise that some of you have but hope you don't mind me throwing in my fan observations.
- Surprised when Davis dropped an easy pass in the beginning of the game.
- Thought the offensive line played fairly well giving ZT some time and opening holes for the running backs. Chance had some nice gains as well as Franklin.
- That interception hurt badly, especially since there was a wide open man to the left for a short gain that could have turned into a long one.
- ZT made some questionable throws but improved as the game progressed. He also ran at times for gains. He's a tough kid.
- Braverman surprised me with his speed, his hands and his shiftiness. Great addition to the receiving team after recovery from his injury of last year.
- Defense sputtered . . . in the second half especially. A few stops and the Broncos would have won that game.
- Very few turnovers was a big plus....I think the interception was the only one.
- Punting and kicking was solid.
- Franklin is a beast.
- Boyd made a great acrobatic catch.
- Hope Celiscar and Currie get well soon.
Overall...We could have won that game. We didn't...but there were a lot of positives.
Idaho will not be an easy game. They are big up front and have some good skill players.
I'm hoping that by watching the game replay a lot of problems will be addressed and resolved.
GO BRONCOS!!!!

No need to apologize for your lack of expertise.
The expertise you see on this site only came about after decades of arm chair quarterbacking.

I watched it today too. My expert analysis:
- I loved our uniforms, but they made me want a hot fudge sundae, really bad. Not good for a type-2 diabete. But hey, I abstained.
- the front 7 overall was not as bad as i inferred from the game thread. Purdues only 2 weapons were tough for our linebackers to Pursue. Spillane definitely looked like it was his first gAme. Must be a tough position to be elite at as a true frosh
