Check out Nizolek's response to video of our entrance going viral.
Video of the team's entrance, which included knocking down a brick wall, made the rounds across the web with titles like "Football entrance fail" and was featured on Sportscenter's Not Top 10. Here Nizolek from MLive responds what he calls the "lazy media narrative." I agree, and I think he does underscoring how poor a job the media does covering EMU and the MAC in general.

Amen to that article. Would love to see a so called ESPN "reporter" knock down a concrete wall in 15 seconds. It's easy to criticize when you have a monopoly on the sports media. What would have made that not a fail? A wrecking ball knocking it down on one swing?

Nice write up. That was the first time I had actually seen the video and I am wondering where the term "fail" came from. It looked to me like the captains knocked the damn wall down. No failure there.

Agreed, Rob. I've never understood what was funny about the video. When I saw it live I thought to myself that it was sort of cool.

That was an excellent column. I too didn't see what was mockery-inducing about the entrance and it's a good to see a media member, who actually was there, stand up and call out ESPN for their head-scratching dig at the entrance.
It also is nice to see MLive is noticing EMU again and giving EMU some good coverage. Make sure to let MLive know it is appreciated as it will help to continue to encourage them to cover EMU.
Finally, most writers will not engage the readers in the comments section, but Nizolek doing so is also very refreshing.
