Becky Wade back in action
This morning, Becky Wade competed in the USA 20K National Championships in New Haven, CT. She finished 7th in a stacked field in a time of 1:12.42.

Just so you'll know, that is 12.4 miles, AVERAGING 5:51.8 per mile!

WRC, any chance that she will ever run in the Diamond League? I have been watching so much of it this year.

Nope. For now, it's all road racing. The Chicago Marathon in October is the next big race.

Sounds good. Looks like she could be lining up a good improvement in her marathon time. Was that a hilly course in CT?

Not super hilly, but after training at altitude in dry conditions all summer, it was a little too humid. But, she never tapered for this race - she used it as a training run to see about her fitness.

You should watch that video. She is really a great representative of Rice University.

I've enjoyed posting about our track & field and cross-country programs and athletes, as I think they do an outstanding job in relative anonymity.

From this point on, I feel that dragon2owl will do a great job with updates on these athletes.

Take care and GO OWLS!
