The Hampton game was a scrimmage. We didn't show anything and didn't want to show anything. Just get the win and don't get anyone hurt.

I thought to myself more than once during the game that I felt as though I was watching an NFL preseason game.

Speaking of players getting hurt is there any word on Ricky Segers. It looked like it was just muscle cramping.

I don't know whether Scott or Bobby call the plays, but they should have been embarrassed by their refusal to play the odds down the stretch and kick the FG and run the ball to get the clock down or force HU to use timeouts. That's an arrogance of a sort -- and you're right; it's going to bite us in the ass. As for the first part of your statement, who cares about 90% of what's on here? It's hardly important; at best, interesting.
Exactly who was going to kick that field goal coach? The field goal kicker with the cramped up leg that fell to the ground after an extra point.... that one?

RE: Two Starters
How about the back up kicker? That FG was only a few yards longer than an extra point. Isn't that why he is on the team. Bobby would not have kicked it even if Segers was healthy. How many times in the past have be passed up makeable field goals to go for the first down or touchdown in the red zone.

You're absolutely right. I stand corrected. Forgot about Segers' cramping up. Thanks.
That said, I just checked the roster and it looks like we don't have a backup K. There's the Ziffer kid, but no link to any bio, etc., that I could find quickly. Maybe he didn't dress? Gotta have a backup, right?

RE: Two Starters
May have just wanted a look at how we respond in that situation?
4th down, red zone, game situation where one day we may NEED a TD out of that play. Why not run the situation?
I know it got botched, but maybe next time we learn from it?

RE: Two Starters
Someone can ask Minium in tomorrow's chat about the report about Fulgham playing then not playing.
But man, I would hope coach tells the press that every single person eligible is going to get in the game. Hell, if I was the coach I'd let slp that David Washington worked on a few wildcat plays this week in practice and that he also looked good running the triple-option.
And if we didn't actually run them in the game I certainly wouldn't get upset.
And as to the whole "BW" is a politician thing--do you remember his first few years here? He *was* a politician. He had to be.

I think we're going to see some wildcat plays now that DW is listed as the starting WR this week.

We certainly hope so. Kinda like our triple option.
