Did anyone else see the porno hacks put on Facebook yesterday? Looks like they hacked via backdoor through the advertising pop ups.

The massive celebrities private pics leaks is going like crazy on the internet. Apparently some guy hacked into their cloud system and is posting them and is trying to sell some others. Its scary that a person could do that

Why I personally don't trust the cloud.

Is syncing that important to trust some far off server for stuff that can easily be retained in storage device you own?

Physical security vs virtual security. With the former, you have to take responsibility for yourself. With the latter, you might be able to blame someone else. I haven't been able to understand why many lawyers would put all of their files on cloud systems, even if they were encrypted or podunk clients no one would be interested in...

I didn't go with the cloud but did get a lot of cloud urgings in my email box that gets the most internet scam offers. Maybe they put their clouds in a hacker's lap.

I think you should read more on the subject of physical security. You're misrepresenting it here.

AAPL saying it was a targeted attack. Translation: spear phishing or a good ole brute force of those individual accounts.

My guess is that it was brute force as iCloud PoC brute force tools have been around for a while. Pivoting into iCloud wouldn't be hard to do but this is much easier especially if celebs used common easy to guess passwords.
