Quite frankly the if the offensive line had played the entire game the way they did the fourth quarter we should have scored many more points. But yes I think we should see CC put a better on the field product by year 3. As far as intangibles are concerned I think CC is light years ahead in terms of management and promotion of the program. He works very hard every day at making this program better, his lack of Div I experience may hurt us this season, but again after season 1 I think he'll move forward. Zero turnovers on offense, better special teams play overall and coming back from behind are all positive points.
I like CC and his approach. As you've posted before: he has a real CEO feel to him. He is not a football coach simply doing recruiting and Xs and Os.
Understands all facets of the enterprise including promotion.
Even though I thought gray turf and "The Factory" was a bit too PRish, I've really come to like it.
The one word I haven't heard mentioned is: BRANDING.
UofM has "The Big House", "Maize and Blue", their distinctive helmets, Wolverines, etc.
Now we have an identity: we have "The Factory", gray turf.
Before that nothing. Some folks didn't even use the word "Eagles" in polite company. Our unis and helmets changed over the year or from game to game.
Nothing worse in college sports than lacking an identity. There are what 125+ FBS team and 350+ basketball teams. Easy to be nameless and ignored.
