UAB +28.5
It's tempting to bet on UAB, and I normally don't bet on games.

I'm sensing that might be posted on the players locker room walls as a sign of disrespect

We were a 2-10 team last year. A 2-10 that got utterly destroyed, at home, by the team that Mississippi St just beat by 50. They didn't just pull that line out of someone's butt.

True, but UAB doesn't have Garrick McGee as the head coach anymore.

Also, we just beat Troy 48-10, the team that Mississippi State beat 62-7 or something last year. That line might move a little, but it's probably a good line.

Most of the time the line doesn't really mean anything to me.

Either you win the game, lose the game, or in some cases lose the game but have a very good showing against an obviously bigger program with more resources.

My guess against the Moos might be the 3rd, but I would not object to the 1st option either.

That's dead on. I will be happy with the 3rd option, and ecstatic with the 1st option!

I wouldn't bet on us until I see a full season. No way I will over react to just one game. Still a long season left.

Yep, and we have a recent history of flaming out as the season goes on.

When's the last time we started the season completely destroying a D1 opponent in all three phases?

Not expecting a win in Starkville, I just hope we can keep the game entertaining into the 2nd half and not get anyone hurt.

Once we return to Legion though we should win our last two home games this month. Has UAB ever started as well as 3-1?

Not arguing that for a second. We still have a recent history of flaming out until we don't do so. Based off of everything I've seen so far, I don't see that happening.

2005 @ Troy, although the score wasn't as much a blowout. Their only points came from one special teams blunder. Rest of the game was solid though. One of my co-workers at the time (former Troy football player) told me he was impressed with our line play on both sides of the ball. Would like to see what he thought of Saturday's game .

I'm thinking it was one year with Watson. Maybe the year we were ranked in the BCS poll, then we lost to Tulane, and every thing went down hill from there. I think that is the same year.

I don't care about UAB defeating Miss State. All I want to see is focus and effort, especially on defense.

If it's a 2-touchdown game in the second half, Coach Clark has this team headed correctly.

2004..... 5-1.

No. 24 UAB then went to Tulane and was defeated after scoring 55 points. 55-59.
