JMU friends, better times ahead. Not here to poke, but add some perspective. There is a reason the WR's at MD this year are picked to be the best in the BIG, the safety is #3 on the junior NFL board and most BIG beat writers have them as the 7th best BIG team but listed as a sleeper. 4 years ago, 25 of the kids left the program under Edsall. What you saw yesterday was finally the work paying off. A 6th year senior QB with 2 years of real game experience, 3 RB's who have all played the past 2 years, an OL which all started last year except the LG and a D which returned 9 starters from last year and is made up predominantly of juniors and seniors.

Another statistic which someone mentioned earlier is coaching tenure. The OC and DC have now been together in MD going on their 3rd seasons. All of the starters no the plays, the schemes and their assignments. JMU is changing a bit right now so in all fairness, it will take some time in real game speed

Finally, we had 2 very highlighted rated OL join as freshmen and prep freshmen and everyone thought they would start. Neither saw the field yesterday which talks to Edsall and the fact he is finally building OL depth.

JMU has better days ahead and you will look back on this game come end of year and realize MD is a much different program right now than fan perception.

Hopefully, for those who attended the game you had a good experience. MD is working hard to make that critical to their program success.

Good luck the rest of the year!

The problem is that it looked as though the turtles didn't have the best game yesterday either. It looked more like you rolled up a couple of quick TDs, let off the gas, and coasted, and we couldn't get anything done, even with you playing at half speed. My opinion.

Just for perspective, Maryland had 187 yards of offense at the half and led 24-0. If you aren't a stats junkie, 187 yards of offense is significantly below average for a half of college football. Maryland didn't have to earn much as they thrived on a ridiculous amount of penalties and superior special teams. Any team that has 70 yards of penalties in the first quarter is a) undisciplined and b) going to lose. Giving away that many free yards is off the charts ugly. It just doesn't get any worse than that. For reference, the most penalized team in college football last year averaged 84 yards of penalties for the entire game.
The Terps were supposed to have great receivers that couldn't be covered. What we actually saw is one bomb when Moreland got suckered and nothing else to note. I thought the pass defense was much better than last year and rather impressed since they performed that way with almost zero pass rush to assist them.

The score made it feel like the Terps dominated in the first half, but it was moreso a comedy of errors for the Dukes.

UMD is underrated. There were parts of the game that need to be cleaned up and I expect your players will make the adjustment. Edsall is a very good coach and he has his players clicking now. I hope your team knocks off a ton of teams in the Big 10. OSU is in trouble at Byrd if they don't get better quickly.

The fan experience was much better than in 2009. The Riggs Center is really nice and the Duke Club event there was well done. Good luck this year.
