Hard for the military to take the blame when it took 30 days for Obama to authorize the mission. Intelligence has a shelf life, and by the time you reach 30 days in a situation like this it's spoiled.
And I am sure that the authorization for the mission to be a go on July 4th is just a coincidence and not out of consideration of the symbolic effect it would have for Obama to have a press conference in prime time on the country's most patriotic day saying "Look what I have done here!"
