Keep us informed about all these next week if you know. I would have loved to see Ootsa take down the Acks powerhouse team, anyway, that's what those Acksters say.

Like football lines we need football viewing threads every week.

UTSA vs Arizona 6 CST Thursday Sept 4 ------TV-FS1

No excuse now to not watch greatness.

It's 7 central, dude. Don't scare me like that. I've gotta drive from Houston and had to double check because your comment made me think there'd be no way I'd make it...lol.

I didn't include Charlotte on my list, since they're not officially part of the conference. I did watch the game on line, and I have to agree with you. I'm not sure Matt Johnson is your go to guy at QB when you step up, and at times, I think Campbell clearly outplayed you on both sides of the ball. But, hey, it was a win, and more, much needed, experience. But I do agree that if Charlotte was with us this year, I'd likely put them last based on what I saw. It will come...it will just take a while

I don't think Campbell outplayed us on either side of the ball. They couldn't run on us at all and we could run on them. Our issues were the play calling (not running it down their throat), bad special teams and terrible QB play.

RE: Week 1 CUSA Power Rankings
It's hard to say after week one because the competition level varies so much and you are really basing your opinion of the opponent from last year, not what they have this year. Given that, here's my shot.

1. UTSA, that was win #6 in a row for them. In the last 5 games they have only given up 52 points. They are on a roll with most of their team back. Don't know how good Houston is this year. My guess is they are a 7 win team at best.

2. Marshall, for as bad as we played we won a road opener by 15 points. Miami was night and day better this year. The QB transfer from Notre Dame is a good duel threat and throws a beautiful deep ball. I say Miami goes from zero wins last year to at least 5 this year.

3. WKU, everyone is talking about the QB, but I was impressed with the speed and physicality of their defense. They have some gaps in pass defense, put they are high motor. Bowling. Green's new coach isn't know for his defensive prowess, so we'll have to see of the offensive production stays up. If so, they become 2A.

Those are the only three teams I got to watch this week. So the rest are based off perception and just looking at the box scores:

4. UAB
5. UTEP
6. Middle
7. ODU

I'm just doing the top half.

I didn't watch the game, but when you beat someone 33-9 on the road, you weren't outplayed.

I seriously thought it was 6. 7 CST changes everything. I'm trying to work a 1/2 day then catch a flight in from Pensacola. This Thursday game is a real pain in the ass.

RE: Week 1 CUSA Power Rankings
1. UTSA (Don't discount Houston. They have a solid team, but UTSA defense is the real deal).
2. MARSHALL (Still likely the best team in CUSA but didn't really play anyone)
3. WKU (I'm not a fan of the MAC but WKU took Bowling Green to the woodshed. Impressive).
4. MT (Will be a solid team this year. Nice win)
5. FAU (Do not sleep on FAU)
6. RICE (No Jordan Taylor last game but still defending CUSA champs)
7. UNT (Will not be the team of last year but have one of the better olines in the G5)
8. La Tech (I'm high on La Tech this year).
9. UAB (Huge win and could be the CUSA surprise of 2014).
10. UTEP (Love the redemption win vs New Mexico).
11. OLD DOMINION (Solid team and could be higher).
12. SOUTHERN MISS (Improving team although not the best matchup to evaluate).
13. CHARLOTTE (Looking forward to watching some 49ers ball).
14 FIU (No reason to lose that game. I was hoping that FIU would be a much better team).

5. UAB -- Crushed rival Troy, big start to era
6. Rice -- Even with crushing defeat, didn't seem too bad
7. UTEP -- Maybe they've turned the corner
8. FAU -- Horribly tough competition early
9. UNT -- Didn't impress against UT
10. LT -- Not the best start, challenging slate
11. ODU -- Fairly OK start to CUSA era
12. Charlotte -- FCS still, but making strides

1. Marshall-Took care of business on road which is never easy
2. UTSA-Impressive win to say the least
3. WKU-hoping to not repeat last season after beating UK
4. Rice-I think Rice will be up there in the end, Notre Dame is good with Golston
5. ODU-Explosive offense, needs to improve defense
6. UTEP-seems to be much improved
7. UAB-solid win vs. Troy, but Troy has been down for awhile
8. MTSU-holding steady, not much you can tell vs. inferior opponent
9. FAU-Will be hard to gauge first few games
10. La. Tech-this week will be a good gauge on where you stand
11. North Texas-not impressed and do not think Texas is all that
12. Charlotte-nice start
13. Southern Miss-not much to say here
14. FIU-TY Hilton available?
