RE: Is it safe to say....
I'm sorry 7, first you point out Cal hadn't won an FBS game since October of 2012, then you say 3-1 is more likely because Colorado and Sac St are no good and Wazzu will beat the Bears and yet your conclusion is "The NU game is probably a toss-up game and the line will show that?"

You and "we'll kill them by 2 or 3 TDs" 4PhaseDelta and everyone else need to take off the Huskie-colored glasses. Beating the stuffing out of Presbyterian doesn't guarantee a thing. Northwestern is still a B1G team on its home field.

Do I want us to win? Yes. Do I believe we're better? Yes. But I'm with yesman815 we better damn well win or it could be a long season. Everyone rants and raves about how we get no respect no matter who we play and beat, but we never give any of our opponents any credit. Bowling Green beat us, plain and simple. Utah State, beat us plain and simple.

The Iowa team we beat last year was a much better Iowa team than the one we lost to the year before. The Cal team Northwestern smoked the year before was nothing like the Cal team that got out of Evanston with a win.

Is it safe to say....
We beat a glorified high school team this week. NW will
pose a challenge for a team breaking in a new QB, DL and young secondary.

I think the odds at this point should be HIGHLY in our favor. I just wish we could have gotten a rematch again the Illness as well instead of UNLV or Presbyterian.

I wouldn't be suprised if we win, but killing is a stretch. After keeping it close for a while vs. Auburn, I'm more concerned w/ Arkansas. They could be ALOT tougher than anybody expected.

Oh good grief , coming from a Big 10 fan, nah I think we are good supporting the Huskies. Look at the Big 10's performance today and tell me how much respect the Big 10 deserves. Don't worry, you can get off the ledge, NIU is not going to beat NU next week, your world will be ok lol.

While I don't believe NIU will smoke Northwestern in the same fashion it destroyed Purdue last year..........I believe Northern wins this game by 2 or more scores.

I think it is fair to say that Northern Illinois would finish 3rd in the Big 10 West this year.

Has to be something heavier than weed. I really don't think today's gam against Cal changed my opinion of NU. They are going to come out hard and try (in my opinion) harder to beat us than any other team they have this season.

NU feels restricted by being only Chicago's B1G team, while we're the entire state of Illinois' favorite team.

Do you think this will be a close game. Most people are thinking we get beat by 3 touchdowns.

I wouldn't be shocked if that happened.

I wouldn't be shocked if we lost by 2-3 TD's either. After the Blue Hose "game", we can compare who might be better by position for NIU, but there is no way to know how good we'll be against our opponents.

Northwestern is a mid-tier Big Ten/P5 team playing at home against the MAC/G5. Northwestern will likely be favored.

I certainly think the HUSKIES can win this game but, there's no reason to be overly confident against any P5 school on the road.

Yeah, why be confident in our team that has not lost an OOC road game since 2011*?

*should have been a win if not for those meddling refs
