It looks like Campbell was wrong then, since he was the one who said it to Nick P.

It was a fun game, NH gave it their all. They had a guy on their kick-off reception team a bit dirty but otherwise, they were a fun team to watch.

It has been like this for years now. IT NEEDS TO STOP. The D still needs to improve greatly. It is our biggest weakness. Until we can play solid man coverage, we had better get used to 8-4 seasons.

The first drive and then the series in which NH ran several "trick" plays, I'd agree. But I thought for the most part, the secondary played tight. It was a fun game, I think I'll re-watch it tonight and check my impressions.

After the first drive, many of the NH receptions were instant tackles. I do not recall a lot of yards after catch. The NH QB was hitting spots all through the first half, be hard for anyone to stop.

You can call targeting on every play if that was targeting. If that I'd the case, they need to ban QB's from going head first. Other misc. I love new unis.

Does that call have any ramifications for the player after the game and can UT appeal?

Injuries:

Am I mistaken or was Hunt out a few plays after that late hit out of bounds?

Who was hurt in the third quarter?

If it is the same as a few yrs ago, if the penalty happens in the first half it doesn't affect the next game. If it happens in second half the player has to sit out a portion or all of the following game. Is this still the case?

More from watching the replay. Ely and Russell need to get on the same page. Seemed like they had too many near misses.

Yes, he should be available next week.

Cole was the one hurt. Got hit hard on the knee on a cut block. Didn't look like he could put any weight on it. Coach confirmed in the presser that it was the "knee area", and that they probably wouldn't have an update til Monday.

The problem was he dipped his head at the end. He led with his shoulder, and if he had just done that, he probably would have been ok, but as he followed through he dipped his head and the crown of his helmet made contact.

Like it or not they are gonna be calling things like that more often. There are just too many head injuries, and too many storied of the horribly long-term repercussions from head injuries, that they have to try to do something.

It's for the defensive players protection as much as the offense. If you saw the play in the WMU game where the WMU DB came in and lowered his head on a hit to the Purdue receiver - crown of helmet to helmet - and the WMU player was out cold on the field. Terribly scary. If he had kept his head up, that wouldn't have happened.

That was the same discussion UTCharger73 & I were having last night. Julian redshirted last year. If you redshirt Woodside this year, both he and Julian would be redshirt juniors once Ely graduates, then let the best man win. From what I have heard, Julian has more upside.

Yeah, but Logan has more Woodside.

Hadn't thought of the redshirt idea, maybe that's what they are doing.

You are right, there were few yards after numerous catches. Dang near all of the cataches were unchallenged. I remember 3 stopped passes all game(two were tipped and one batted down). We need more of this to happen on a consistant basis. Play the reciever tight and challenge the catch. We need to be challenging the passing lanes consistently. Missouri's QB will take full advantage because he will see this in film prep. Secondary coverage could make or break the season.
