Flush reviews game #1
I will take a little time to reflect and review the first game...

#1 - Franklin is a running back WMU has been looking for, for years... Sanford with speed... Great recruit. +1 PJ Fleck.

#2 - I said earlier that the D-Line/Front 7 was going to define our ability to win this year, and it was evident today as they couldn't provide consistent pressure and LBer's were out of position in critical times... leading to some long conversions... usually to the TE or to a come back WR route. Oh well... we knew it was going to be a struggle there...

#3 - If you would have told me we would score over 30 on a Big 10 Defense on the road after last year I would have thought you were smoking drugs. Terrell played an aweful first half and we still hung in there....

#4 - Ball IS the program. The only reason we didn't win (in my opinion)... was a turnover in the second quarter when we were struggling with field position anyway... that turned into a TD.

It is apparent that we are bringing in some serious talent upgrades over years past... everyone is... We were a 1-11 MAC team... Purdue was a 1-11 BIG10 team... We out-recruited them this year... I like what PJ is doing and I like the intensity that this team had most of the game..

When Celiscar went down... you could see the winds leave the sails in the defense... Scary hit... scary moment... thank goodness he's ok... but that was the end of the game right there...

I like what I saw... now its up to how they grow from this game and what they look like in the next one.

Couldn't agree more with your analysis.

I'll add that I am very concerned about our linebackers and our special teams, but pleasantly surprised at Braverman and Franklin (even moreso than I expected).

I don't think Terrell lasts more than half the season.

I will add that I was pleasantly surprised at how we limited the penalties on big plays. I am not even sure if we had a holding call on our OLine... that right there is an improvement. A HUGE one...

I feel better about our chances in the MAC right now than I would if I was CMU. (right now.. this may change if we lose some of the guys who went down today... I.e. Currie, Celiscar, Atkins... etc. ).

Did that cornerback play for Purdue yesterday who decommitted from us?

Anyone have analysis on how Asantay Brown played?

Tim Cason? Don't think he played.

Asantay Brown played a couple snaps on special teams I think.
