5-6 Go Charlotte
First game was a tale of two halves. Now let's put together 4 quarters and enjoy a great season.

you probably already know this, but if you really want any meaningful discussion of Charlotte sports, you have to go to ninernation.net. No Charlotte fans post on this sub forum.

I like the optimism. We'll need to play well on Saturday. JCSU will be looking to come after us. I hope we see plenty of Philips and Thomas. If those guys can be successful out of the backfield, the game will be easier for Matt.

A steady dose of Phillips and Maetron should be enough to win this game, but I'd like to see Matt Johnson bounce back from a poor showing vs Campbell.

This. I also hope Nesmith can get it together.

Nesmith has to make better decisions back there. Nothing wrong with signaling for a fair catch every now and then.

Yes and I don't feel anymore confident with Austin Duke back there. Maybe give Tre'shun Wynn a couple of chances.

I probably (definitely) got more worked up than I needed to in the 4th quarter. Just hated to give them any feeling of life after flat out dominating them for three quarters. Still, it's great to be 3-0. Hope we can get to 4-0 next weekend. Planning to make the trip up.

Let's go 4 & 0. Last game was a good pay back game. Now if they will just pay 4 quarters.

There's no reason we shouldn't beat Elon, they were 2-9 last year and are 0-2 so far. If we manage the game and limit our turnovers we should have a great day on the ground even if Phillips sits this one out to heal his shoulder.

I wonder if sitting Philips is under consideration?

This is the best game on the schedule to do it in. We'll know more from the Coach's Show tonight.

we took it on the chin last Saturday. I'm starting to have concerns about this coaching staff being able to do a UTSA or OD success repeat. But I'm pulling for them.

Eh, we still have a long way to go, but I still think the staff us heading in the right direction. That's not to say that we won't take our lumps because we're moving up very quickly.

Are we progressing at the pace you thought we would? What do you predict will be our season ending record? On which side of the ball (offense or defense) do you feel we are strongest?

Strongest on offense, when Matt is playing well. Defense was solid early, however that was weaker competition and now we have some big injuries to our LB's. Schematically our defense looks to bend but not break, we don't have the depth on defense to continuously give up long drives.

I would say that we are. Building this team is going to be a long-term project, especially with the quick jump to FBS. I'm not much on predictions, but going into the year I thought 7 wins would be good. Going to have to steal a couple to make that happen. The offense is ahead of the defense at this point, but both will struggle next season.
