No, but under Monken 5-6 starters would have been out because they were injured in practice and NC State would have won by 3 TD's.
Have to say that it's been years since I've seen a Georgia Southern team this well coached.
then you should have watched the Florida game!
I was at the Florida game.
I was also at the Samford game.
As well as Wofford.
You know the circumstances of last year. Lets be real. There were a bunch of reasons why we underperformed. Unless it was just a monster coincidence that neither GSU or Appy finished in the top 3 in the Socon for the first time in 20 years, with both teams having experienced rosters

Yeah. The 5-6 injuries sustained in the game was much better. That wasn't a badly coached game, but sure won't go down in the annals of coaching lore. We left a ton of points on the board
Those weren't injuries, those were cramps. Except for Ellison who fell on the ball and had the wind knocked out of him. Jackson had to go into the locker room and get an IV in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
I wasn't necessarily talking about the game being well coached. There were a few mistakes made by the coaches. Fritz even admitted he should have gone for it on 4th and 2. I'm talking about the team being well coached overall. This team had sound fundamentals...they tackled very well, had very few penalties (none in the first half), they looked like they were all on the same page and in rhythm. It looked like they knew what they were doing. They definitely had problems with NC State's hurry up offense, but that is something that can be addressed and fixed. There were flashes of this against Florida last season, but for the first time in a long time, it looked like we actually belonged on the same field with a P-5 team.

Most of the problems were that we were horrifically injured last season and certain members of the coaching staff were on entirely different pages and they were at each other throats for the majority of the year.
West Point thankfully owns that Soap Opera now.
