Yesterday I was annoyed. Today I chuckle because I realize this is intentional.

There is a similar dust up going on between FIU and the Miamii Herald. FIU has been denying access to the Herald's beat reporter - the only year round FIU bet reporter - and has now denied that reporter credentials: http://www.sbnation.com/college-football...redentials

I've been saying for a while that this is a symptom of the decline of print journalism. With the proliferation of on-line resources (both amateur and driven by the team's own PR staff), sports teams have realized that the newspapers need them far more than the sports teams need newspapers.

So yes it is true that Simmons is butt hurt about withers treatment towards the media. No doubt that was the impetus for his tantrum article about JMU the other day.

If DNR wants to stay in business, you better believe they'll be giving in.
They need JMU far more than JMU needs them.

It amazes me that JMU continues to alienate the only newspaper not called The Breeze that covers its program. Doesn't make sense!

The articles are there...seems they can't seem to post them under sports

It makes perfect sense, but you've got the bad actors reversed...it's not that JMU "continues to alienate" the DNR, it's that the DNR continues to take every opportunity to diss JMU.

Gotta punt on the DNR and mostly papers in general. Newspapers are just an archaic thing in these days. Every time I pick up a paper I say "I saw this story 24 hours ago". Content is on rivals.

I bet the DNR will intentionally find and use a picture of President Alger in an awkward position that causes readers to think he was picking his nose when the picture was taken in the coming weeks...take that JMU...
