We just need to work on holding onto the ball. If you look at OL, we are very young in the 2-deep. Our recruiting priorities on O are clear - upgrade WR and TE.

We still need a breakaway threat at RB as well.

I had hoped Kolodney would be the anwer at TE, but he can't even make the 3 deep on the depth chart.

I think Cooper could be a big time player for us, and I sincerely hope we RS him this year. Agree that we could use another "classic" big name/star at RB. With Davis signing, I would rather have a big time TE though.

Cooper played Saturday and had the biggest run of the game so no red shirt for him

Was against FCS team late in the game. My opinion is we have depth at RB and should use it. Allow Cooper a year to learn play book and be in the weight room. Also gives some separation is scholly distribution by class/position. Davis and Wallace are RS Frosh and Cooper is true frosh.

The counter to that is that based on the first game, Cooper is a superior running back than Davis or Wallace. Has the body and speed to run over DB's and can play now.

coach is redshirting either, I doubt coach wants to wait that long to play key players - coach needs to win now not down the road

yup. If you need development, then redshirt. If they are strong enough / talented enough to play now, they play now.

And he looked like a beast!

He took a snap so he can't redshirt unless he has a season ending injury and then medical redshirt

No he is a bull and will probably be the number one tailback by the third or fourth game. If not the starter he will be the finisher which is exactly what CJF was experimenting with Saturday.

Remember, he says run to win, so when you have a lead, you burn clock and you can burn clock if you have big RB who can move the chains.

You don't have to worry about the instate schools, MSU is full at QB and OM is too I believe in addition to them having very limited spots this cycle. USM could be a team to watch and to be honest I don't know why they have not offered yet.

Southern Miss was his first offer. https://memphis.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1633876
